Should be.
Probably one of the best they can make at WW at the moment.

Hopefully 105 sucks besides the main event
Although the winner still wont do shit against GSP.
What?

I’m confused as well. Why would you want a free fight card to suck?
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

Sorry
I meant Hopefully they add this fight to the card because outside of the main event 105 sucks. Although the winner of Swick/Hardy still wont do shit against GSP.
My mistake gentlemen.
It's a free TV card man.
And it’s probably on par with UFC 99.
Usually
The cards I find myself bitching about end up having 2 huge KO’s, 3 sick submissions, and 2 awesome back-and-forth battles.
BOOSH
Agreed. And when have we ever gotten to see a Randy Couture fight for free?
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

Since Zuffa needs to marginalize whatever ratings Strikeforce pulls on CBS…
Zuffa beat elite’s second show on CBS with a REPLAY on spike.
My assumption is this CBS show will pull around Kimbo’s CBS numbers plus or minus 20%. This CBS show will also add more viewers and buzz to ufc 105 on spike (the wec show broke records the day after elite was on CBS).
If the spike show could get close or meet the CBS numbers it will be a homerun for Zuffa. (there’s like a 3 to 1 difference between spike and CBS)
If UFC 105 beats CBS it will be hilarious.
Conversely If the strikeforce show triples Kimbo’s CBS numbers (without coming up with some crazy freak show) then it’s a game changer.
Come on now
The WEC show broke records on Versus not because it was on the day after Elite XC but because it was Faber-Pulver 1 which was the biggest fight the WEC had ever had at that point.
I could see 105 beating Strikeforce simply based on how popular Randy is and the CBS show is huge to hardcores not casuals.
Fedor, Mousasi, Shields, are very talented but not draws.
Strikeforce getting triple Kimbo numbers no chance, double Kimbo’s numbers very very doubtful, even more viewers than Kimbo numbers I would be suprised.
I will apologize if I’m wrong but I just dont see it but then again I will wait to see how many promos I see during college football and the NFL. If they promote the hell out of it they might be able to pull off slightly better numbers than Kimbo but I still have my doubts.
I could see 105 beating Strikeforce simply based on how popular Randy is and the CBS show is huge to hardcores not casuals.
You do realize CBS is in every household with a TV while Spike is in less than half of those right?
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.
Yes
And I explained it Fedor, Mousasi, and Shields are huge to the hardcore fans and not so much to the casual fans.
Randy even losing 2 fights is still extremely popular and this is the first time in a long time probably going back to Ortiz-Shamrock that the UFC has put a big draw on tv.
Now like I explained if they promote it right it will out due UFC 105 no doubt but they have to promote it right. Look at Elite XC’s second CBS show when they had Lawler, Diaz, and Shields it did horrible because even though the fighters were talented they were not draws.
Ok I see. One comma can make all the difference.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

If they do fight, I hope Swick beats Hardy. I am just not a fan of Hardy or his gimmick. Sucks for Stun Gun though, and I hope that the UFC finds someone for Stun Gun to fight.
Yeah, I really do not like Hardy. He came off like such a douchebag leading up to the fight with Marcus Davis.
The thing that is ridiculous is that Hardy is claiming that MMA fans don’t like him because he is from the U.K. I really started not to like him leading up to the Davis fight as well, and I personally don’t like him because he talks a lot of trash and hasn’t shown me too much to show for it except that he has heavy hands and is good to decent at all aspects of MMA.

neither of these guys would have a chance at GSP
it would be a GNP clinic. GSP by GNP, what a foreign concept. Hardy has done nothing to earn it, Swick would’ve probably lost to Kampmann who got his salad tossed, anthony johnson needs to get in this mix quickly he seems like the only shot at a viable contender at ww unless you count the new york badass.
Are you serious?
the way Kampmann got raped by Daleys striking, Swicks power and speed would put Kampmann on his ass.
"I will knock your hair black!"- Ken Shamrock to Tito Ortiz
people throw that word around a lot but you have no idea the effect it has on people, maybe you should think about it
i personally think kampmann would’ve beaten swick and just got overconfident against daley, and it was capitalized on. Daley wouldn’t have a shot against GSP, swick doesnt, and hardy doesnt. Noone at WW has one as of now.

exactly, the last free spike card had 3 ridiculous fights and one fight that looked promising but ended predictably

by ufc4 on Sep 27, 2009 8:10 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
i wasnt nuthugging
i said he needs to get in the mix quickly… i realize hes pure potential right now but with his wrestling base has a helluva lot better chance than hardy or swick

Johnson needs another year to convince me...
I’d like him to be at a good camp (maybe he is? I can’t find anything online about his camp) as well. I love the guy cuz I got mad family in Dublin, but I don’t want him to be rushed to a shot.
If he beats Yoshida, I’d like to see him fight Dustin Hazelett and then a top-5 guy, and then GSP.

Sorry, it just seems like every time the WW division is brought up somebody has to bring up Johnson and say how he’s gonna be the guy to take down GSP when in reality he has never beaten a top 25 opponent and has proven nothing. At this point GSP would take him down and pound him out within three minutes.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.
by ufc4 on Sep 27, 2009 9:06 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
That’s the way up-and-coming prospects tend to work. Rumble is a prospect similar to Dustin Hazelett, Jon Jones, Escudero, Duffee or Ryan Bader, etc. where they haven’t fought the toughest fighters YET, but it shows in their fights and development that there is potential to fight at the higher levels. If you are just looking at records, then NO ONE is a prospect.
As far as fighting GSP right now, then yes, Rumble would get killed. However, seeing his development and physical gifts, if he keeps winning, he would look to be able to give GSP a fight in the future.

Paul Daley vs Stun Gun now? on 105?
by SouthAlaBamaRampage on Sep 27, 2009 7:41 PM EDT reply actions
Dan Hardy
doesn’t deserve a to have a shot at the title yet…. they should have swick vs daley, at least it makes more sense to me
by cagefightonacid on Sep 27, 2009 7:50 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
swick vs hughes wouldve made the most sense
but i dont think white and silva want hughes lnp’ing his way to swick being out of the picture… and theyre trying to build another UK poster boy after bisping lost that status
by Austin Martin on Sep 27, 2009 8:20 PM EDT up reply actions
Hughes doesn’t make any sense to me, he’s been stopped by gsp twice and both times appeared slower, weaker, less skilled and mentally defeated….. ww is a tricky div. but in my opinion, not that troubled

Hey, I wrote up an article why I think this might be a GP, and you guys took down my article and grabbed my idea. Shame.
Here’s your Fanpost: =)
Nick Thomas of Bloodyelbow has taken this as meaning a potential fight between the 2 is brewing, but would that really be considered “big news over the next few days”? And wouldn’t Swick say he has a new opponent instead of some really cool news? I think the UFC just may have caved in on not doing tourneys because of the lack of a legitimate #1 contender at 170. I can only hope.
LMAO, yeah, sure were you. It’s probably another one of your conspiracies, Bloody Elbow hates you and just wants to steal your ideas, better write another article.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

Why do you continue to try to get into a war of words with me. Don’t you notice I never respond? Will it make you happy if I respond now? Ok, I’ll bite but only this one time.
Just so you know for future reference, when you post I just look at your picture and cant help but laugh.
P.S- Thanks for reading all my articles. And please never change that hilarious pic.
?
Now why did you have to go ahead and crop out Dan Hardy’s girlfriend/sister from the image?
If this was a fight between Hardy and Swick,
Then I say Daley got the short end of the stick.. Sure hardy is more popular, but beating Kampmann shouldve earned him a shot at swick at least..
Now if this was a WWGP? Shit.. I’d be fucking excited.
I’m thinking that Daley might headline TUF 10 Finale against Thiago Alves

Hardy vs Swick @ 105
G. Davies confirms
http://www.mmarocks.pl
https://twitter.com/mmarocks_pl
Mike Chiapetta says Dana confirmed via text
that Swick-Hardy will determine a number-one contender:
The UFC is targeting a Mike Swick-Dan Hardy matchup to determine the top contender to Georges St. Pierre’s welterweight championship, company president Dana White confirmed to FanHouse in a text message.
Win for Dana either way
The added bonus if Hardy somehow manages to trounce Swick, Dana could try and headline a UK show with that fight and move it to PPV instead of Spike. Either way, the world gets to find out who GSP’s next victim will be.
“Sometimes an opportunity presents itself and you have to jump at it. Swick is a tough fight for anyone in the division — that’s what makes this fight so exciting.”
“I’m the underdog again, which is what I prefer. I get the chance to step up again, put a beating on a ranked and respected fighter and prove the doubters wrong – for a fourth time. I’m going to keep tearing up the division, all the way to the belt.”
I think it will be an interesting fight that will prove one more time that swick vs kampman had no business being called a n°1 contender bout.
You don't look like a Tanaka.
And how is Swick/Hardy any better as a No.1 contender fight?
Not trolling. It’s a serious question.
I think that everyone is sleeping on Swick. His size, length, speed & striking will pose problems for anyone at WW, including GSP. I’m not saying he wins that fight, but it would be far more competitive than most are predicting. The only guy who has really even challenged Swick in the past five years was a Top 5 middleweight (Okami), who looked to have a fairly obvious size/strength advantage.
