Tiki Ghosn talks Kimbo - "When I met Kimbo and saw what he could do, this guy did not know sh*t about MMA. He didn't know anything. We had to, you know, go through... I mean he can punch, we all know he can punch. But he didn't know anything. He didn't know sprawl, he didn't know how to get out of a takedown, he didn't know any of that stuff. I think as the season goes on, you guys will see some pretty impressive things out of this guy."

You know...

I can understand people saying Kimbo’s game is “limited,” but I’m hoping Tiki was exaggerating when he says “didn’t know anything.” The guy hasn’t been training with XC or anything, but to not know Day 1 type stuff reflects extremely poorly on either himself or his former trainers.

To be clear, and avoid the glut of “lul wut’d u eckspekt” comments: I expect Kimbo to not know much, and to have a BAD sprawl, but to have absorbed zero so far is worrisome.

I thought this is why Bas said he wouldnt train him any more. He doesnt listen to instructions and doesnt apply anything that hes been taught.

Bas sure didn’t seem to have a problem with him when he was winning. He was more than to talk about him like the greatest striker in MMA. Then Kimbo lost and Bas was suddenly all ‘fuck that guy’.

i don’t get it.. He bashed kimbo about having no skills, then at the end he says that we will see pretty impressive stuff..

is he just trying to say that he’s a great trainer?

I don’t know if that’s exactly what he was getting at, but the implication that one could take from his comments is that at least Kimbo either a) doesn’t listen at all, or at least didn’t listen to Bas or b) Bas is a shit trainer and he’s better. Maybe a bit of both

On another note, I really like this whole after show thing. I hope they continue it past this season.
