Wide World of MMA - August 2009
This is a re-post of Smoogy's Wide World of MMA series that is posted on both the UG and on MMANews.com forums. He has given me permission to continue posting this great series of GIFs for the BloodyElbow.com Community.
We've reached the six month mark!
Congrats to Tyler Toner for being the second fighter, along with Jesse Taylor, to make the 3-0 mark in WWoMMA. Hopefully he will also make the jump to some big MMA fights soon, in addition to his upcoming Shootboxing gig.
In a nutshell, Wide World of MMA, or WWoMMA, is designed as a way to shine a light on great MMA action happening outside the "major" promotions. Any televised or videotaped fight from the last month is considered, with a focus on hot prospects, notable names, plus spectacular knockout or submission finishes.

Cole kneed Heath in the face while Heath was down in the first round – you see the ref come in to pause the action, and Heath tries to throw a punch around him. Then in the second round, Heath KO’s Cole with the first punch and tries to give him a little payback with one to the back of the head as Cole lays face down on the mat.

Heath is a fucking asshole, that’s all that needs to be known.

good to see that TheGhostOfSmoogy is still productive in BE.. the other ghost sent an angry email to me. hahahah. :P
Nakamura/Kheder was a decent fight, but unfortunately what you see in that gif (the awesome low kick to suplex sequence) is as active as Kheder was the whole fight, and at that point it was the end of the final round in a fight he was losing. The whole time it looked like if Kheder would just get busy, he could beat Nakamura, but he just about never pulled the trigger.
