Jason Day's latest win via Twister. I thought Neck Cranks weren't legal under the unified rules (Am I wrong?). Either way it's an interesting finish.

Good question
http://www.azracing.gov/Boxing/Boxing_Policies/MMAUnifiedrulesamateur.pdf seems a bit confused on it.
Page 23 lists neck cranks as illegal (as is pinching which I find cute).
Page 26 lists neck cranks as "Any hold that places the fighter’s neck in jeopardy from a crank is illegal. Neck cranks such as the “can opener” or “bulldog” are examples of an illegal neck attack."
However page 20 lists the Crucifix as a legitimate hold, saying, “Can be a submission hold when applied as a neck crank.”
Not sure, seems they are and aren’t illegal.
weoweoweo is the best… and I <3 Vera cause he is pogi.
they are illegal in amateur mma bouts but not professional mma bouts. Being as Day is a pro-fighter, I think the other fighter is a pro as well as this match was after Day got cut from the UFC. So…. its all good!

Turns out you’re right. Initially I couldn’t find the pro rules (considering how easily I just found them, I must have been very tired), so I went by this paragraph.
The Unified rules of Mixed Martial Arts – established by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board, became the de facto set of rules for professional MMA competitions internationally.
But meh, heres the real ones:

and yes, it doesn’t contain the word “crank”. Tho there are some other oddities in it that lead me to believe these may not be fully in effect .

Nice!
Cool set up
Here’s a video of Jason Chambers pulling one off.

Actually...
A lot of commissions deem this illegal, but referees don’t have a clue.
