Watch ADCC 2009 Live for $20
Don't take this as an advertisement or endorsement, but more of a public service announcement: ADCC will be streaming live online this year. For $24.95 -- or $19.95, if you sign up using the Gracie Mag discount -- the event organizers are promising six to eight hours of live streams per day from Barcelona (6 hours ahead of the East Coast) on September 26th and 27th, plus "free access to our VOD (Video on Demand) where the best fights and finals will be available." Subscriptions are capped at 10,000 users and the quality is said to be "amazing."
Update: Here's an up-to-date list of participants, thanks to Luca Atalla.

Physically there? If so… I’m actually turning green with envy.

From the site's FAQ:
I was wondering how the adcc stream will air. Will there be constant matches occuring during the day online, or something like from 4:00 to 6:00 online stream? [What] will the “tv guide” be for the matches is pretty much what I’m wondering.
We are planning to start our WEBCAST at the beginning of the event and run it until the last match of the day. Keep in mind ADCC run three mats thru the day and one mat per final. We will WEBCAST one fight at the time and we will switching around our cameras spread around the three mat areas . Our goal is to provide the best fights to ours viewers, and have them available later on as VOD (video on demand), so you can come back to adcc2009.com and watch a match that you have missed.
Cannot wait to watch this, I’m psyched like none other.
Supermatch – Drysdale via massive size advantage over Jacare I believe.
Men’s Over 99kg (218 lbs.) – Unless Saulo has put on just ridiculous muscle mass, I expect Fabricio to most likely get this division over and done with, Monson won’t be able to point his way out this year.
Men’s Under 99kg (218 lbs.) – Xande
Men’s Under 88kg (194 lbs.) – Awesome division, Galvao has a great chance, Lovato Jr and Braulio are pretty stiff competition though.
Men’s Under 77kg (170 lbs.) – Askren… Kidding! Marcelo with relative ease.
Men’s Under 66kg (145 lbs.) – Most action packed division by far, my heart says Ryan Hall, my brain says Cobrinha.
Women’s Under 60kg (132 lbs.) – Kyra should pull this out barring any odd surprises.
Women’s Over 60kg (132 lbs.) – Hoping Penny takes this division.

Supermatch – Drysdale via illegal head kick!
Men’s Over 99kg (218 lbs.) – Werdum (although id love to see Gonzaga rock the boat
Men’s Under 99kg (218 lbs.) – Ribeiro- although I wouldnt be surprised if Dean, Vinny, or Marcio pulled it out, This si the division i want to see most
Men’s Under 88kg (194 lbs.) – Galvao probably.. Palhares by tree stuming maybe? Haha if Nakamura or Lawlor wins… I wont even go there
Men’s Under 77kg (170 lbs.) – I cant see MArcelo losin, but then again I’ve learned not to count out a Gracie- and there are TWO there…
Men’s Under 66kg (145 lbs.) – I’m gonna say Yanha pulls it off. If Faber or Curran make it outta the first round I’ll be giddy like a school girl (Midget American white boy power!)
Women’s Under 60kg (132 lbs.) – Kyra, while takign a nap
Women’s Over 60kg (132 lbs.) – All i know… is that it ain’t gonna be cyborg
Even a broken clock is right two times a day.
weaksauce. There goes Galvao’s challenge

Wow that sucks, this would have been his first tournament I think.
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
Toquinho entered the ADCC Brazilian trials a few years ago because BTT wanted him to get some exposure. He submitted Romulo Barral in the first round (huge upset at the time), but had to withdraw due to an injury. He never really liked straight BJJ/grappling tourneys, that’s why I was surprised to see his name on the list originally.
