MMA.Fanhouse.com says it could be Dan Henderson (25-7 MMA, 5-2 UFC) vs. Nate Marquardt (32-8-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) as the main event of UFC 105:
"FanHouse has learned that the UFC is looking to book a middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Dan Henderson for the Nov. 14 show at the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England. As of Thursday afternoon, though, official bout agreements had yet to be finalized."

HOTNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great fight. And I for one am leaning toward picking Henderson.
No rationale yet, give me time to make one up.

rationale - being one of the toughest SOBs ever
suchhh a tough fight to call.
good chance hendo can get some takedowns, and nate is not an elite fighter from his back. in a 3 round fight, keeping nate planted on his butt could score major points.
on the feet, nate is a good striker but not completely elite there either. hendo is so tough, that it will be hard for nate to do big damage and finish it.
my heart says nate, my head says hendo. i’ll probably change my mind a bunch of times.
the problem is
that Henderson is infamous for forgetting his wrestling during fights.

that's actually the reason why i've got Marquardt for this fight..
Nate has better stand up i think, and he doesn’t use his wrestling much.. I think Hendo will be head hunting again the whole fight and his only chance of winning is landing that bomb he calls a right hand.
Nate has a pretty dynamic stand up game, so i think he’d have a hard time catching him like he did with Bisping who threw patty jabs and never followed up.. (plus he circled left)… Hendo had problems with Franklin’s stand up and i think he might encounter the same problems with Nate.
although, i’ve also picked against hendo in his last two fights, and look how that turned out..

I thought Hendo was technically a free agent, so if this is true, what does that mean for contract? Or was I completely wrong thinking he was a free agent?
Has it been confirmed by anyone other than Josh Gross’ sources that he’s a legit free agent?

How crazy would it be if Nate landed a KO?

Exactly sir.
So we would see Nate pull a “Frank Mir” and finish Hendo on a free PPV. That would be some C-r-A-z-Y shit nukka. : )

If Rampage couldn’t do it, Nate would need a baseball bat.

The thing with this fight, if it even happens, is that there would have a clear number one contender for Anderson Silva’s Middleweight Title. Stylistically, it really is hard to call this fight. Yes, one fighter has an advantage or two over the other, but the disparity is not that far apart with the exception that Marquardt does have much stronger jiu jitsu.
With all of the things that we hear though such as that Henderson ONLY wants to fight Anderson Silva in Middleweight or a big fight at 205, I have to wonder if this fight will come to fruition. Money does talk though.
i am taking henderson in this fight… a couple years ago me and my friend bet on one of the pride shows i thought vitor was going to maul henderson. funny how it literally was the complete other way. i will never go against hendo. know he lost to rampage and silva both in the ufc but man i think he is going to be too tough for marquardt to break down. that his experience, athleticism, technique, and size/strength (a lot i know) i think is going to win him this fight if it ends up happening
its a fair deal take it
i dont like it cause i want to see nate get KO’d in the first again by silva, but this makes the most sense to give silva the most deserving opponent, deserving of a brutal KO by silva…OH!
ufc fan boy all the way
I told you
Anderson wasn’t going to fight either one of these guys. And the UFC wasn’t going to force him to, I also said they would match them agaisnt each other, and its the right thing to do, they were both dominated and they don’t want another Silva vs Franklin II fight, its hard to watch!
FUCK YES!
FUCK YES FUCK YES FUCK YES
My life just got a little better. Get to pop my UFC cherry on this tasty visual treat =-)
If it falls through I will cry a bigger river than Justin Timberlake.

This fight could be great
But has dan even been signed yet? And he has said before he would rather take a fight at 205 over this.
