I found an interested story over at MMASCOOPS.COM:

(Boothwyn, PA) - Rodney King is known throughout the world as the man who pleaded with the nation, "Can’t we all get along?" Recently his sobriety was put to the test on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" on VH1, where the gentle giant owned up to his addiction and sought extensive treatment in order to save his life and become a better father for his children. Now, he is ready for a new challenge; he’s stepping into the boxing ring in order to face some challenging opponents.

"It’s time now. And, I’m ready!" King exclaimed. "I’m ready to put my gloves on and face my challengers in the boxing ring." King has always been an athlete and looks forward to his foray into celebrity boxing.

Upon being approached to fight with the Celebrity Boxing Federation (CBF), King issued a challenge to all comers and will be the headliner on the card of the upcoming Celebrity Boxing 11, presented by the CBF.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 12 at 8:00 p.m. at the Maple Zone Sports & Fitness Center in Boothwyn, PA.

"It doesn’t even bother me, not knowing who I’ll fight yet, because the result is a done deal," Kings says with supreme confidence. "I’m winning. Period."

King, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 250 pounds, will take on a to-be-determined celebrity challenger"as long as he weighs at least 200 pounds.

Those who deem themselves worthy of stepping into the ring against King are being asked to send an e-mail to celebrityboxing@gmail.com.

Rodney King knows a little about street fighting, having grown up and spending portions of his life in tough, urban areas around California. That kind of personal experience gives him the ability to face his opponent head on as he enters the world of celebrity boxing.

For ticket information, contact Center Stage Tickets at 800-677-8499, or Maple Zone Sports & Fitness Center at 610-358-5500.

"I’ve seen it all, man," King says. "Going into that ring doesn’t scare me a bit."

King has decided to present Boys & Girls Clubs of America with a portion of his celebrity boxing pay-per-view proceeds in order to support, inspire and help young people realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. For more information about BGCA, visit www.bgca.org.

The possiblities of opponents are endless, but I'll put a few I think could happen in a poll. Feel free to add more suggestions in the comments.

“Celebrity Boxing Federation”

I didn’t know that one existed. It sounds comical.
