Kendall Grove Fighting Minor Rib Injury Leading Up to the Fight Against Ricardo Almeida
According to Mauinews.com:
"Grove has spent the last few weeks recovering from a rib injury."
"'Minors,'' Grove said of the injury. ''It hurts like hell, but by the time the fight comes, I should be good. I'm getting older, I guess. I figure I have a good five solid years left in me to fight. Over the years I've matured as a person, as a fighter. Yeah, if you put someone in front of me, I'll fight them, but the UFC isn't everything to me anymore. There's more.'"

It makes me feel better about my parlay.
Disintegration -- I'm taking it in stride.

It’s not the rib so much as the “the UFC isn’t everything to me anymore. There’s more.”

Crap
I was actually pulling for a minor Grove upset here. Kendall better stay on his bike and keep that distance from Almeida for sure now.
Well...
This cements my pick for Almeida now I just need to figure out if it will be a SUB or UD

Whatever the opposite of a broken heart is, I have it now thanks to his comment. Thanks Kendall!

Ribby!
Hmm. We’ll see how well he fares with a sore rib. Frank Shamwow’s busted rib sure didn’t help him against Diaz.
I dunno, might be healthy
Forrest said that he actively separates fighting from the rest of his life, he makes it so that he doesn’t define himself as a fighter and the two aspects of his life never affect each other. I know other highly ranked professionals in many fields who have the same philosophy with their lives; it seems like it’s a healthy outlook.
Arlovski is the perfect example, two losses have almost destroyed him as a person because he let the two aspects cross over. If Kendall is figuring this out, he will have a lot less stress going into this fight; we may see the best Kendall yet.
I’m hoping all 3 hawaiians on the card lose.

I’m not sure who the 3rd Hawaiian is, but what the hell, I’m with you.

![Demian Maia, speaking to MMA Junkie following the TUF 12 Finale, compliments Kendall Grove on his BJJ defense:
"I'm happy because I won, of course," Maia said. "I wanted to submit him in this fight, but Kendall was smart. At one point I was baiting him to go to the side when I was on his back because I wanted to switch to the arm-and-neck submission.
"He didn't go even though his corner was saying, 'Go to the side, go to the side. Escape your hips.' He was not escaping, and I was like, '[Expletive]!' After the fight, he said to me, 'You wanted me escape my hips to that side so you could switch to that submission.' I said, 'Yeah, you're smart.'"](http://cdn2.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/164139/demian-maia-kendall-grove-1009-ufc-tuf-12_small.jpg)
