UFC counter-programs Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg on Aug 15th:
"For those wondering about UFC vs. Strikeforce, well, UFC will be airing five straight hours of programming on 8/15 head-to-head with the Carano vs. Cyborg fight. They will be replaying the 100 greatest fights for five hours. It's not like they are putting a tape of a major PPV, so it's not the all-out assault they've done in the past, but it's still countering."

Yeah...
WTF! If they really wanted to crush it, UFC 100 would have been smart to use.

Also, smart move on spike’s part.
There will be something for me to switch over to when the skinless monsters are explaining to me the difficult aspects of mma, like a double leg and a jab.

LOL at airing a clip show being portrayed as ‘counter-programming’. Especially a clip show that has been running non-stop on the network ever since it was first aired. I must have flipped past it a half-dozen times in the last month while channel surfing. Has it been counter-programming this whole time, or does it just magically become counter-programming when something else is on.
What’s next? TUF marathons as counter-programming? Three year-old Unleashed reruns as counter-programming?
At some point, the alarmists need to realize that UFC programming is the only thing Spike has going for it, and it is not counter-programming, it is just run-of-the-mill programming.
Come on...
This is simply using low level counter programming to draw from a show that relatively few people are going to watch anyways. If this was a CBS show, we would be seeing a replay of 100 or something.
The UFC isn’t concerned, because the majority of the people that will be tuning in to SF, would do so regardless of the counter programming (unless it was NEW UFC).

Check it out!!
They are actually dumbing it down, look at what is shown the next weekend. 25 hours of UFC content over June 22-23. FN 4, UFC 75, UFC 89, Fight for the Troops, UFC 75, Ultimate Iceman all on Saturday in a row. On Sunday Fight for the Troops followed by 8 hours of UFC Unleashed.
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
What do you mean by dumbing it down?
Yes, time flies. And where did it leave you? Old too soon...smart too late. - Mike Tyson
Compare what is shown “counterprogramming” Strikeforce to what they are showing the next weekend on Spike. There is less programming against the Striekforce card. This is probably because the schedule was set before Strikeforce signed Fedro.

June?
Where did you pull that one out of?
Am I supposed to wait for UFC 100 again?
