Another thing that has been issue lately from what I've seen is what is the definition of "fighter bashing" and what constitutes it. Some people are getting reprimanded for comments about fighters while others are going completely unnoticed. There should be a standard set in place that we should follow, no matter who the fighter is, if "fighter bashing" is going to be labeled as a "no no" on BE.
In all honesty, in my opinion, there is no way of dodging the "fighter bashing" problem. If you are not speaking positively about a fighter and his abilities, then you are speaking negatively and if we can't voice negative opinions... what the hell is the point of posting here in the first place? Its all about tone in your posts, the projection that you are conveying in your opinion or statement.
For example and this is only an example:
Fedor in my mind is running away from competition. Given the quality level of fighters in the UFC HWY division, he could truly lay claim to his reign as the number 1 HWY, if not number 1 p4p fighter in the world. The level of competition in Strikeforce in most ways is inferior to that of the UFC, outside of Rogers and Overeem, there is no one and not even those two can provide much competition.
The above posting is a negative posting in regards to the Fedor situation. In essence, it is bashing him, but it is saying it in a respectful tone.
Fedor is scared and he is tucking dick and running away like a bitch.... Fuck Fedor. (sorry Luke, just using this to make a point)
That posting is also negative and its laced with foul language and malcontent. This is fighter bashing and considering we're all adults here.... should be avoided and postings like this should be dealt with by the moderators.
Now, I enjoy a lot of the stuff that is posted on here.... mainly I love some of the sarcastic tone and jokes that you all come up with. I think there is a difference between commenting to make others laugh and commenting to be destructive.... this line should be visible. If the moderators are to consider policing the "fighter bashing" more appropriately.... there is no difference between Fedor Emelianenko and someone such as Antwann Britt. You can't just protect your favorites but let everyone run wild on the guys that you don't like.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is the exact same thing your mom or wife says when you're arguing with them.... that is "watch your tone".

Internally, we have our rules and system on how we define fighter bashing or any conduct that isn’t allowed within the community.
That something you can’t share with us? Could be beneficial if we knew exactly where the line is drawn…

Apparently it was allowed, so there really isn’t a set “line” where we know when and how we are crossing the line. I agree that it was fighter bashing, but it was also very funny.

I’ve said some bashing remarks about Tim Sylvia… my apologies AHance..
I’ve bashed other posters… mainly mmalogic. It wasn’t right, I kept going and going…iiowin called me out on it and he was right.
Fact is, if you can’t post anything that contributes intelligent points of view or something funny to make others laugh…. then just shut up and don’t say anything. Also, quit pushing the same arguments over and over and over again…. make your point with one post and just leave it alone.
You can get a point across and make a healthy discussion without insulting others intelligence.

My definition of fighter bashing
Like it or not, the internet has spawned a very coarse culture, in civic discourse on race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Anonymity has a tendency to bring out the worst in people. To keep the forum civil, it is necessary to uphold certain standards, one of them being you can’t just shit on people because it’s easy and convenient and you like being a dick on the internet. Here is the easy test:

How about this:
Don’t call a fighter, a guy who gets in the cage (or ring) for a living, a coward or a pussy? There is nothing funny about that.
On the flip side, something done in obvious humor like one of those .gifs is fine.

But it should be fair game to call out people for dodging, ducking, or otherwise acting like Kaleb Starnes.
Some people feel this way about Fedor (I do not). So I think it is within the realm of fair comment to say:
“…he’s scared to fight the best."
That ain’t calling him a coward. It might be calling him a pragmatic businessman. But it’s somebody’s opinion, and it isn’t unreasonable.

I personally don’t see anything wrong with finding humor in what these guys do sometimes…. but if you are blatantly attacking w/ course action… there should be a line.

…Man that guy was frustrating to talk to.. I ignored all his post for the last few days, and i only try to butt in and say hey please make your arguments using real points and not ‘how long you’ve watched mma’… but he continued to troll around just to piss everyone off.
I tried to reason with him several times a couple of threads back, but alas.. it was just a waste of time.. He even called me a guy who didn’t contribute and just wanted to troll and constantly flame non-UFC fans..
