I wanted to take time to collect my thoughts and speak from the heart rather than spew out some cliché anecdote about a tough loss. I know I am a better fighter than the way I performed that night and was heartbroken to not give more to those who have been inspired. However, I find some relief in knowing that this has never been only about me, and now more than ever I feel freedom to learn and grow at my own pace. I make it a point to constantly remind myself throughout this journey who I am, what I am doing, and why. Life is the most amazing gift and I want to live it for the right reasons.
To my family, coaches, management... thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me, loving and encouraging me. Also a special thanks to the fans who support me from their computers at home, watch me on television and scream for me in the stadiums. Because of you, barriers have been broken down and you have inspired me to believe in a larger dream. Congratulations to Cris Cyborg and the women of MMA who have a great platform to shine. I am more excited than ever for female fighters and this amazing sport which has transformed my life. God Bless.

That more then anything is why i like this girl;
she is honest, takes it on the chin and has shown class and great respect. i hope she now has some more modest expectations put on her. One can only hope that this allows her grow and develop as a fighter. I look forward to a more together and stronger gina.
I agree. I like her attitude. But I have to take exception with one line.

Only Gina knows, but she didn’t look any different to me during the fight than during any other fight. What was different was her opponent. My opinion prior to the fight was that Cyborg takes the fight 10 out of 10 times and that obviously hasn’t changed. Gina doesn’t have the power to KO Cyborg with a single punch and even if she hits her with a hard shot, Cyborg always has the option of taking it to the ground where Gina is no threat (even in mount).
Good luck Gina! Rich Franklin may have some advice for you.
i thought she threw less push kicks..
than what she regularly does..

Does she want to fight Cyborg again or not
I loved what Gina had to say. She is a class act and I want to see her fight again…But does she want a rematch with her? She’s excited about Women MMA??? Great, she needs to get back on the horse that she just got bucked off of.

this is a very honest and heartfelt statement from Gina
and she even managed to get out there with it faster than Forrest Griffin.

She’s always struck me as tougher than Forrest.
Hopefully this is a chance for her to get out from under the shadow of being “the face of women’s MMA” and get back to being a fighter. She sounds relieved, doesn’t she? I’m hoping for great things from her in the future.
Don't believe a word I say, I don't train BJJ.

I agree. Gina’s heart and grattitude toward the sport and her fans is awesome.

Hey, I don’t suppose ekc stands for the “Environmental Kuznets Curve,” does it? My wife published a paper on that…

Has Forrest got out there at all?
I have not seen anything from him.
Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even when you win you are still retarded.
The line forms back there.

I'm glad you said something jemaleddin
being first in line myself, I shouldn’t have to be the one to tell everyone that.
"Also a special thanks to the fans who support me from their computers at home"
Did anyone else find that line incredibly funny? Damning with faint praise?
I finish beers at 1:55.
On it’s own, yeah it sounds a bit snarky. But if you don’t cut off the ending, “Also a special thanks to the fans who support me from their computers at home, watch me on television and scream for me in the stadiums.” then I think she is sincerely thanking all her fans, whatever form their fandom takes. (that’s fandom, not femdom – just clarifying ;) )
