My UFC 102 lock bet

I always look forward to the Fridays before major UFC events to see the frontpagers' posts on their bets.

Quite frankly, I consider BE to host the pre-eminent opinions in the MMA world, and if you don't believe me check out this Tweet.

I just locked in my last bet for UFC 102, So I'm gonna throw out the combo, and you guys can argue about what a dumbass I am ...

Star-divide

Couture, Leben, Gonzaga, Vera, Russo, Duffee, Munoz

Bet $8.18 to make $126.73.

I take no responsibility for your dumbass betting your wife's ring on this thing. I'm just telling you what I bet $8.18 on. No need to come back and shit on me when I'm wrong. My own self-hatred and my wife's brutal nagging is more than enough punishment for anyone this side of  Prometheus.

I have a parlay (mmaplayground) on Rosholt, Duffee, and Dunham

Want to see who wins?

by Meshuggeth on Aug 27, 2009 11:16 PM EDT reply actions

That dunham bet is going to be your downfall. No way he can hang with Aurelio.

by Rabbit915 on Aug 28, 2009 2:09 AM EDT up reply actions

^this

Aurelio is the type who beats cans and loses to better opposition. Apart from Gomi.

If you think Dunham is a can then I don’t know what to say.

He is a big prospect and will show that tomorrow.

Oh, it’s fake money.

Well, nevermind then.

At the risk of getting flamed to a crisp...

I’ve never really bet money w/ an online bookie for UFC before… only one on one bets w/ people.

What does “parlay” mean?

He was like 'You hit like a bitch.' I'm like all right. And I stood up and slapped him. I go 'Now you just got hit like one.'" - Kurt Pellegrino.

It’s putting together several wagers into one single bet.

If Couture, Leben, Gonzaga, Vera, Russo, Duffee, and Munoz all win, then takeover wins. If even one of them loses, then he loses. That’s why the payoff is so high for such a small wager.

by Jahbulon on Aug 28, 2009 1:15 AM EDT up reply actions

For example at UFC 100 I had a parlay of Jon Jones, Jon Fitch, Dan Henderson, GSP, and Brock that I bet $20 on and it paid about $125. They all have to win or you get nothing. I wish I had put about $200 on that one instead of $20.

Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

A seven fight parlay seems to be begging for a bad decision.

Most of my fake money is on a much more reasonable Couture-Gonzaga-Munoz threeway.

it’s a fine selection. I’d substitute A-train for Vera. I just dont see how herman wins .

by naturalist on Aug 28, 2009 3:04 AM EDT reply actions

Yeah, I have A-train on a number of other parlays and you can include him in here but seven-fights was already a longshot without throwing in underdogs.

Haha! I never learn my lesson, do I? But the juice has to be worth the squeeze and not all of us have a four-figure bankroll!

There is a reason for that =P

I got Couture/Vera/Jardine as my parlay. For a while I had a wacky K-Sos/Rosholt/Tuscheschescheschescher super underdog parlay that paid off at like 50-1 but I took it off.

As far as 7-team parlays go, I don’t think this is that bad.

As far as betting 7-teams parlays go…
