Could Paul Malignaggi Be Blacklisted?:
"At some point, there has to be accountability for this stuff. It's been going on for years, and some people will go, "Hey, it's been going on for years, whatever," but why should we accept what appears to be absolute corruption within a SPORT? This is not professional wrestling. This is a SPORT. The athletes come in thinking they're competing, and that their skills can carry the day even if they're an underdog. Malignaggi essentially had no chance to win this fight. Barring an unlikely knockout or some sort of ungodly domination, Juan Diaz had this in the bag.
Most judges are just fine. I'm not slamming every boxing judge out there. But they get away with so much without having to take any responsibility for their actions. Will lip service be paid to looking into Van Hoy and his scorecard? Maybe, but nothing will come of it. They'll wait for us all to forget about it, the same as that supposed "investigation" of Valuev over Holyfield last December or any other number of fights that have been controversially judged.
And how hard does it get to continue to support and love a sport when guys can lose a fight, take the microphone, and flat-out call the sport a crock, and it's hard to disagree with them? We're admitting that we're watching a sport with some rather inexcusable flaws.
If Paulie Malignaggi "disappears" from your airwaves forever, he will have been proven right. And boxing will be, in the words of "The Magic Man," full of shit."

Look at what that white dude on the right is wearing. I mean, come on. And I don’t know which side the guy who did the introduction is on, but whichever it is, he had to be involved with the corruption. a) He looks shady. b) I’ve seen him call MMA “human cockfighting” with a cocky-ass smirk on his face.
Malignaggi was totally correct!
I watched that fight live on saturday night on HBO. Going into the fight I was expecting Paulie to get beaten up pretty bad, Diaz should have done that as well. I had watched previous fights of his and really disliked his(Paulie) style, which is a strict boxing style, and he’s got no power whatsoever. Not my favorite type of boxing to watch.
But he really did an excellent job in this fight of doing what he had to do, to win the fight. It really was an entertaining fight. Considering Diaz was looking to crush him and suffered a horrible cut over his left eye from an accidental headbutt. Malignaggi was flying all over the place peppering Diaz with jabs and straight rights, which made the cut worse and bleed terribly.
Now the fight was very, very close in the end. And I could easily see someone giving Diaz a close decision, which one of the judges did(115-113). That’s totally reasonable in my opinion. Watching the fight, I would have scored it for Malignaggi, and the guys calling the fight thought he won as well. Granted Ledermann who does their scoring i generally don’t agree with, I did tonight. But the two other judges, mainly the 118-111 judge(the other judge scored it 116-112), I don’t know what fight they were watching.
But minus the horrific judging, HBO guys mentioned before the fight started how they had stacked the cards against Malignaggi in the fight. The ring was really small, which is bad for a guy who like to move around. Also the weight was really low for Paulie to cut too. And then they said 3 of the 4 judges were all local from Texas, where Diaz is from.
The problem was… 118-111 is fucking absurd. That was so blasphemous, I mean… that’s something Cecil would do.

Absolutely, it was a terrible score. I don’t even know how a pro-Diaz person would score it that way. Paulie’s right, when he talks about how boxing has no integrity. I’d love to have heard what DeLaHoya had to say, Paulie references him saying something about how bad the score was.
It’d be great to see video of Paulie after the fight in the ring again too. That was great! Just screaming into the mic that “Boxing is Shit!”
my first born will now be named paulie
cause i would want him to do exaclty this in this situation go to war and when you get fcked by some piece of shit use your god given american right to free speech and look him in the eye and say hey man you fucked me.

After watching the fight over at home on my DVR last night (saw it live at Toyota) I noticed there was someone up front wearing a Tapout shirt. That made me smile :) Would have been even better if he had a UFC shirt on lol.
I still think Paulie got robbed. But, not from a victory becuase I don’t think he won now. He got robbed of a fair shake from the get-go. Very close fight but yeah he himself needs to watch it over and probably won’t be so upset just because HBOs HL gave him the fight. Malignaggi made himself a new fan in me though with his comments. His fighting style is not for me though.
1 Malignaggi 10-9
2 Diaz 10-9
3 Malignaggi 10-9
4 Diaz 10-9
5 Diaz 10-9
6 Diaz 10-9
7 Diaz 10-9
8 Diaz 10-9
9 Malignaggi 10-9
10 Malignaggi 10-9
11 Malignaggi 10-9
12 Diaz 10-9
115-113 Diaz.
Even though I don’t think Paulie won it’d be cool to see a rematch at MSG in NYC. I still think Diaz would take it. Watching it live it looked really close but on TV you see a lot of those punches were not going through for Paulie.

nah...
I don’t even think it was that close… I think it was closer to 116-112 for Paulie… based on his defense, and his jab… I think Diaz landed mostly glove punches also, outside of when he went to the body.
I'm like PacMan fightin you silly kids... throw ya Hatton the ring, and get knocked outlike Ricky did.
lol.
Yeah, it was close and its just my opinion. No biggie. Stats show that Diaz landed more though.

1st: it was a very entertaining fight. 2nd: there were many close rounds & depending on your preferences, could have been scored either way 3rd: in the 1st 1/2, I thought Diaz was really landing bombs….til I realized he didn’t have much more power than Paulie & that changed my perception a little.
Paulie got robbed BASED ON MY PREFERENCES FOR SCORING. I can see how others favor the bigger looking shots b/c even when they get blocked, they made a nice thud. Paulie danced around & scored very well from the outside. He also made Diaz miss a lot. I favor that over Baby Bull’s style which is less polished. So I had it 116-112 Paulie. When the scores were read……I thought Paulie won. My jaw dropped when they said Diaz!
Also, anybody watch Guerrero?? He looked & fought like Nick Diaz!!
