Still not Retired, Renzo Gracie Planning to Fight in the UFC?
Renzo Gracie, 42, reasserted that he is not even thinking of retiring. He revealed that he speaks frequently with his friend Dana White, and that the UFC is not out of the question for his return.
"I’ve opened the gyms I’d wanted to and now I want to return to training, there’s no better place than in the ring. Dana White is my friend and we talk on the phone every now and again; whenever I have a suggestion for a fighter ready for the UFC we talk on the phone. We talk of my return and it may be that I fight in the Octagon, who knows. I haven’t any pretensions of becoming champion, but I’d like to face the champions. I’m going to keep fighting till I’m 50, for free is need be."

would he fight at 185? if he were at 170, he’d fit right into the “senior circuit” they’ve amassed recently. i think it’d be fun to see him give a shot. plus they’d probably sign him just to keep him out of strikeforce.
if maia loses, i'd like to see maia face him in a rebound match..
it would have a pretty good story line.. although i wouldn’t know if maia would want to fight a gracie..

I remember some pictures coming out around the time Maia fought Sonnen of Maia visiting with Royce, Rickson, Renzo, and Royler. Some of the pictures showed Renzo working on technique with Maia while Royler looked on (smiling, of course). So I don’t think either guy would be much interested in that fight.
a rematch?
The miletich signing isn’t official yet.. plus i always take what the gracie’s say with a grain of salt.. although renzo has been the more ‘sane’ of the bunch. haha.

hah yeah i totally agree. Renzo seems the most down to earth of the Gracies.

Renzo is by far the coolest Gracia in my opinion, met the guy in Nashville after standing next to him for like 15 minutes. I finally looked over and realized who he was and I gave him a nod…I was giggling like a little school girl in my head. haha

Ahhh I don’t know if I could stomach the guy getting beaten by decision, let alone KO’ed, a couple times in a row before “officially retiring”. He already has a golden rep, no need to risk tarnishing it
I train at a Renzo school, and think he’s one of the best ever, but challenging guys half his age with 3 years of ring rust is not the best move.
THAT BEING SAID, if Pat Militech is given a chance, it should be against Renzo just bc it would be awesome to see Renzo submit him again in the first rd
