no 102 talk? or is that for next week?
also i don’t know if this will help the discussion or not, but couture talked about gina and forrest losing:
“If the worst thing that happens to Gina (Carano) or Forrest (Griffin) is they lose a fight, they’re doing pretty damn good.”
.
“I don’t necessarily see that as a negative. It’s all part of the learning and growing process… Obviously she was a little embarrassed by the outcome (in losing to Cris Cyborg), but overall she did a great job in that fight. She had some opportunities to win and she did some good things. She did some things we trained to do.
.
“I think the adversity of losing that fight is going to be very, very important for her development as a fighter.
.
“I know from my own experience, the fights that I’ve lost were very important to me, and if I could go back and change them, I don’t think I would. I think I learned more and became a better person and a better athlete for having experienced those things.
.
“And I know Gina and Forrest are both in that same boat.”
that was from mmainsider blog
and Randy also talked about it with 5rounds:
"I think she had some opportunities to win. It was an amazing five minutes. They made a lot of transitions, a lot of positions, and I think Gina caught Cyborg with some shots that got her attention, and obviously Gina got overwhelmed on a couple of occasions, but I think overall, she did some great things.
.
"This is a new experience for her, and it’s an important one, and I expect she’s going to come out the other side a stronger and better athlete for what she’s going through right now."
.
"The gameplan was to use her combinations and her footwork," said Couture of his strategy for Carano. "Stick and move and try to make Cyborg keep up with her and find her. Obviously, they ended up in a couple of firefights that she really didn’t need to be in, but it’s hard when somebody hits you, not to stand and try to hit them back. It’s understandable."

I don’t think the big deal is that they lost, it’s how they lost. Forrest was just completely embarassed and then ran from the cage and Gina was totally overwhelmed and looked unprepared for what Cyborg brought.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

Silva talked about wanting to fight Mir, but i’d rather see him fight randy at LHW (if randy wins against nog, which he probably will)…
I don’t want to see randy face brock again.. and randy/silva is far more intriguing than Silva/hendo 2..
I wanna see Randy against Machida and Silva against Gonzaga.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

Anderson Silva against Gonzaga??
that’s a huge weight difference man.. I’d rather him fight super fights at LHW than jump two weight classes, especially since the second weight class has a limit equivalent to around 3 weight classes higher.

He wants to fight Mir, Gonzaga doesn’t weigh much more than Mir.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

gonzaga weighs 250+
i don’t think Anderson could stop a GG takedown..

Hey, it was his idea to fight at HW, not mine, and a fight with Gonzaga would interest me more than Mir.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

And him fighting at LHW doesn’t interest me that much cuz the only person he wouldn’t destroy is Machida and they won’t fight.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

The UFC will never do Silva-Gonzaga in a million years. I’d give up your hopes.

Well probably not but I’d still find it more interesting than Silva-Mir which apparently the UFC was at least receptive to.
Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

Are you going to ask Gross about whether or not the UFC has made peace with him like it has with his colleagues at Sherdog? The answer would do a lot to uncover the UFC’s motives in the matter.
After all of the coverage of the UFC’s media policy and the Loretta Hunt debacle on this site, I’m a little mystified that the mending of the relationship between the UFC and Sherdog has basically been ignored.
ESPN = Sherdog
and ESPN now broadcasts the UFC’s UK shows.

A bit or two on the pro wrestling/MMA battle and Brock…
There really isn’t a war between the two hardcore communities. It’s more of a businessman war. The WWE is so despotic right now that their fanbase is ripe for the picking. It’s so bad, when Oliver Copp was working for WAMMA while working for WWE, they were treating him like a traitor. He was always missing memos, the last guy to know things and it really hurt his credibility.
Would I like to see WWE take a dent? sure. But it’s more of a war of business rather then fandom.
