Pancrase Changing 5 Takes Shape; King Sunabe's First Challenger Revealed

20090607045_medium

Pancrase disclosed three more bouts today for its fifth "Changing Tour" event on October 25th, and it's looking like a great card for those who dig action in the lighter weight classes.

Newly-minted first Flyweight King of Pancrase Mitsuhisa Sunabe (right) will make his first defense against the undefeated, #1 ranked contender Isao Hirose.

The man Sunabe KO'd in June to become champion, Takuya Eizumi, faces SK Absolute's Kiyotaka Shimizu, who's looking for his fourth straight win on his fourth straight "Changing" card. Shimizu won the flyweight finals of the 2009 Neo-Blood Tournament in his last bout, and a win here would already put him near the top of the burgeoning division.

Meanwhile, #1 ranked bantamweight and Sengoku FWGP participant Seiya Kawahara will try to snap the four-fight win streak of Ryota Sasaki, this year's bantamweight Neo-Blood Tournament winner.

Previously announced was the bout between first Bantamweight King of Pancrase Manabu Inoue and second Shooto featherweight ace "Jackal" Oishi.

Pancrase crowns a flyweight king, and they bring their flyweight division to the unified standard.

I wish sure do wish Shooto would do the same, or at least change the names so that they aren’t as directly confusing…

It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
