Paulo Filho Calls Out Gegard Mousasi

I wanna fight Mousasi and show that with against me is a whole different thing… He doesn’t have my strength, he doesn’t have my level on the ground. He can be a better striker, but he doesn’t have my strength and he’ll go down once and be submitted. He’s well trained, but I don’t think he’s healthy enough to beat me.

If he wins, I don’t even want my salary. But I guarantee he’ll be beaten more than he was against (Akihiro) Gono"

This would actually make a good matchup. Too bad Filho would have to move up a weightclass. Still, i see Gegard doing what Manhoef did, but actually finishing.

Well… Filho moving up in weight is better for him really.

probably, but he’d be more dominant at mw. did he have trouble cutting weight for the manhoef bout?

Ehhh

he’s already short for MW, and Sonnen was able to easily take advantage of that in their fight.

Imagine what kind of things Mousasi would do to him standing

But what about a catchweight? Strikforce seems to have a thing for them at the minute, say it was at 195, one of the only decent fights for Mousasi that could take place in Strikeforce. I think Filho would lose bad personally, his striking is horrific and Mousasi is no slouch on the ground, I agree that it would go similarly to the start of the Manhoef fight, but would end then

Not to mention

that Gegard has very servicable judo, and would probably be able to counter any of FIlho’s Judo- based takedowns.

Arona and Filho have been rumored for Strikeforce lately, and we already knew that Filho wanted to fight at 205, so, looks like some good matchups right there.
