love Leben, lets hope that Hawaii has cleaned him up.
Can’t wait for Vera v. Kryzstof

Didn’t he get on the roids in Hawaii?

Hawaii has an exceptional drug problem
I doubt Hawaii has ever cleaned up anyone.

This is a far more interesting card to me than 101, although 101 probably has the single most interesting fight in Penn-Florian.

I think Silva-Griffin is the most interesting fight on either card.

Dunno why, but just have no real interest in that. It could get cancelled tomorrow for all I care. Maybe its because I know Silva has no real interest in LHW because of Machida. Couldn’t care less who wins either. Although I can see why others would be interested in it.

Gouveia vs. Irvin has no right to be on the prelims

Don’t worry, it’ll be shown, it’s bound to end in two minutes or less.

I like the Maia fight. That is all I am pumped for here.

oh man
Randy vs Big Nog is an epic fight — sure its basically a senior circuit fight, but if Big Nog wins, it could set up a Lesnar vs Big Nog bout that I’m wanting to see even if it frightens me.

plus Rosholt vs Leben
is a big test for a top prospect. Rosholt failed his last test with Dan Miller’s submissions. We’ll see if he can beat a brawler like Leben.

I like your attitude
but I can’t get pumped for either Couture getting smoked again, or watching Big Nog get absolutely wrecked. The only sliver of hope I have is that his destruction by Mir was really due to staph, and not a sign that his career is nearing an end.
And I don’t like watching Leben fight.
However, I can be convinced Vera/Krzyzyzzyyzyztofff could be exciting, if Vera gets his shit together.

“but I can’t get pumped for either Couture getting smoked again, or watching Big Nog get absolutely wrecked.”
How about the chance that it could actually just be a good fight?

It could be
But in this case the implications will ruin it for me. 2 hours after it’s done, Subo is going to start saying “Brock’s gonna whoop that ass” and he’s going to be absolutely right.

Leben’s from Oregon and they got screwed out of Randy’s return fight – that makes it OK with me

They will see Leben fight in the arena regardless of whether or not he graces the televised portion of the card.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.

Gonzaga is a real steep welcome to the UFC test for Tuchscherer
they seem to like putting him against wrestlers. this is Gabe’s third in a row. He was putting a hurt on Carwin untili he got finished. He sent Josh Hendricks packing in one of the rudest welcome to the UFC bouts I can recall.

I have a strange feeling Tuchscherer might do well...
training with Brock has to be good for something?
by Lewish on Aug 2, 2009 9:41 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
No...
the real issue is that Tuchscerer isn’t very good

Isn't his only loss to Wiuff at YAMMA?
Maybe give him a chance to win here.

I'm storing that comment in the memory bank for the night of Aug. 29
And I’ll discard it from said bank, if Gonzaga rolls.

I keep waiting for Gonzaga to become a big deal at HW.
Every time he gets close he gets shut down.

Thiago vs. Jardine
I can’t wait to see this. Silva was a weak undefeated when he stepped in their with Machida . . . a fighter who’s fallen in love with the knock out and forgot about the rest of his game and got taken completely to school by the Dragon. Jardine is a gamer who’s been in there with the best of them, but his loosey-goosey style makes for exciting scrapes but ultimately he falls to better fighters. His striking is wild, and exposed by Rampage’s more precise boxing in their fight. There is a reason why Rashad sped past Jardine at 205 in the Jackson camp, Rashad figured out the striking game in terms of tight boxing, hand speed, and power. I think this will be a real fun fight of two guys who both really need to win.

How can you not like Nog at those odds?
+160 against a 45 year old Randy? Even odds I’ll give you but a big dog? No way.

I was told Lesnar was a huge dog at +190 against Fedor.

Well yes...
any time a guy you think is going to win is an underdog it is nice. I’m simply saying that +160 is very far from being a “big dog” it’s actually saying it is a very close fight with Couture slightly favored.

Seeing as Nog walks around like he’s 75, I don’t think age is really an issue in this fight.

![Chris Tuchscherer talks about the lack of answers he received from Oregon State Athletic Commission:
"I asked the doctor many times what would happen if I can't continue. 'Is it a no-contest? What happens here?' And the doctor and the ref couldn't tell me. They kept passing the buck on to each other out there, so no one could tell me what was going on."
About that time, Lesnar came cageside to check on Tuchscherer. The heavyweight champ first inquired on his training partner's health, at which time Tuchscherer told him he thought, "My [testicle] is up inside my body."
