MMA Embarrassment Rnd 2: The details, gym and promotion name!

Earlier in the week I posted what I seen at a local amateur event. That Fan Post is here.

This organization is going to get this guy, or someone every similar seriously injured or worse! He has no business being in the cage. Fights like this have more of a drunk tough man type of fight than anything, far from the sport of MMA. The original article can be found here.

I wasn't sure if I should out the associated gym and promotion or not, but in the end I decided that it was the right thing to do. Especially after the comments that I got in return.

HERE IS THE NEWEST POST

Before I share some of my favorite comments that I received I do want to share the name of the gym and promotion.

The fight took place under the name of Modern Gladiators Fighting Championships. This was the promotion’s sixth fight card (under that name). The gym name is Virginia Beach Academy of Martial Arts. Their website states:

“Most important iss these Martial Artists have carried forward a code that requires you to use your new found martial skill to develop harmony of mind and body, and to become a better citizen.”

Their actions for allowing that fight to occur that night are not the type of thing you would expect from an outstanding “citizen”.

HERE IS THE NEWEST POST, that has all of the details about that gym including their name and the name of the fight organization. However, I did not reveal Spongebob's real name. Just a note, we called him that because he used to wear a beat up Spongebob shirt to the cage.

I want to specifically thank you guys. I linked up BE and cited a few of the comments that I got, including one from the previous Fan Post! Specifically Who Me from this site.

This is one of those stories that needs your recs. Everyone needs to know about this shady group that is bad for the sport! We need to stop them before they hurt someone. People like this are the reason we can't see MMA at Madison Square Garden and the other states of the nation!

I truly applaud your efforts, lots of people talk a big game but you are out there trying to make a difference in this sport and that deserves respect.

are you from there ncsar? i moved from norfolk not too long ago, after being in the area 8 years. sucks to hear this is going on there. are there any good promotions there? i’m still back on business alot. i’d love to catch a legit local show sometime. guess there’s always richmond.
