bad decision theatre
a positive test can be career suicide for a WEC level fighter.

Unfortunately so can a loss or two.

Methasterone is actually still in some over-the-counter drug supplements in the United States. I woudn’t be surprised if we hear Province claim foul.

I would imagine its on the ban list that is available for all fighters. That excuse is pretty old at this point.

So will this go down as a no decision?

Kizer today told MMAjunkie.com that a formal complaint will be sent this week. Province is now under temporary suspension pending a formal hearing.
A suspension and fine could be issued at the hearing, and his victory could also be overturned to a no-contest, though news of the failed test came too late for the NSAC to add the case to its Aug. 19 meeting.

Yet another blow to the ‘you can spot juicers just by looking at em’ theory.

Forget Cole Province; this sucks for Fredson Paixao.
This was Paixao’s second fight in the WEC, trying to get his career back on track after two years away from MMA. His first was a loss to Wagnney Fabiano and now this happens. He can (and should) get the loss erased from his record, but he can’t get a win added.
