Ken Shamrock is apparently proceeding with a legal action against UFC parent company Zuffa, claiming breach of contract.
This is despite him stating after his third match with Ortiz that it would be the last time fans saw him fighting in the Octagon. MMA.tv today reports that Shamrock is proceeding with an action against Zuffa. Fighters Only

i'd like a UFC legends mode..
I think it would be awesome to play as Royce, Tank, Old Coleman, Shamrock, etc…

Yeah, I am. So if those “UFC Legends” like Ken, Frank, Tank, Royce, and Bas are not signed to the UFC Likeness Agreement, the EA game can have an “MMA Legends Mode” which could feature the above named fighters, as well as guys like Sakuraba, who might not matter to casual fans, but could be made to matter through “Legends Mode.”
The UFC is at war with EA, and believe me, the UFC is going to throw alot of money at these old UFC stars (the ones who they are still on good terms with) to keep them out of the game.
I highly doubt money is going to be an issue when it comes to fucking up any of EA’s plans. So, the chances we see a multitude of legends is slim to none. Definately not enough to make a legit “Legends Mode” maybe only get a few unlockables that make us go “Meh”.

There are a lot of fighters in that game that don’t matter to the casual fan, so why not? And I’m fairly certain that Frank wouldn’t be considered a Legend and Royce did sign the agreement.

Well I guess Ken has plenty of free time on his hands right now to get around to suing Zuffa for something that happened in 2006. It’s that or try and figure out what the next Wargods card is going to be.

It’s not anything new he’s been posturing lawsuit since shortly after he was released in 2006 (after he announced he was retiring). The only news now is that he still hasn’t gotten around to it yet. Lawsuits aren’t like fine wine, they don’t improve if you leave them down in your basement to age for a couple of years.

If Zuffa owned up to the fact that the contract with him was still legit
couldn’t they just counter-sue for his fights in other promotions as its own breach of contract?
Surely they can break a contract when a guy tests positive.
