Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

KenFlo's view on his own fight.
"The goal was to keep it close the whole time," Florian said. "I definitely thought I won the first round (and) I thought I won the third. I know one judge had me winning all three rounds and I think another judge had me winning 2-1. The goal was to try to get him to the fifth round and drown him. I couldn’t afford to make mistakes at that point."

My god, BJ choked his brains out. Literally.

Walla walla walla I'm an idiot.

Did B.J. kick the judges dogs that morning? Sounds like bullshit, judges on acid if they had those scores.

I know, right?

I was under the impression that BJ was dominating that fight.

Any time Kenny would try to take him down, he easily stuffed it, and then blasted him with a fast/ crisp combo. At no point in time was Florian able to mount any significant offense, and if trying (and failing) to take someone down for 3 minutes was enough to sway the judges minds in Kenflo’s favor, then i’d rather have an audience clap-o-meter to decide who wins fights.

If those judges scores are correct, then I am flat out horrified.

Thats how I had it going, 2-1 for Florian. People should take a second watch and try to think like your typical mma judge…

Why?

Because he was holding him against the fence? The only round Kenny even came close was round 5.

One close round

Round 2 MAYBE. Round 1 was BJ, worked him in the clinch, Round 2 maybe to Florian, but I saw to BJ, round 3 to BJ too

Kenny is deluded

I knew that Kenny would come away and attempt to put a positive spin on it. Leading up to the fight Kenny was painting himself into a corner by saying things like “I’m going to beat him skill for skill” and there’s no way he can beat me. In the end he kept it relativedly close by stalling the fight against the cage but there’s no doubt that BJ is far and away the better fighter.

Florian needs to get his ego back in check and take a spoonful of modesty.

Kenny’s clinches were useless and he might have hit BJ 2-3 times each round – what is he smoking?

At least he's honest

Many fighters would be too embarrassed to admit that their whole strategy was to hug the guy for five rounds and pray for a decision.

Can someone twitter Dana asking him if that is true about the judges scoring the rounds for Florian?

I listened to PROMMA radio last night and he said it on that show as well.
