I like that more and more fighters are wearing suits to the weight ins.

I agree. I think its good for the sports public image because it makes them look more like professionals.

by attgnp on Jul 9, 2009 9:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Agree, been saying this for a while. Good on Bisping and as always on GSP.

Frank Mir kills it. In a bad way.

Fans: FEDOR! FEDOR! FEDOR!

Goldie: The crowd seems to be chanting "Kongo" here, Joe.

I agree. Plus it makes the sponsorship money issue moot. Do they or don’t they have to pay for the weigh ins, is it just in the octagon, what about their wraps on the way to the octagon, what about photos at UFC promos…so many issues.

BE should charge the sponsors as well whenever you publish pictures of competitors w/ shirts with ads.

Completely agree. Suits equal class

and there’s no reason they shouldn’t present themselves as anything other than classy.

Gotta love GSP and Bisping coming to the weigh-ins in pinstripes. Classy, classy.

No offense to Alves or Hendo, but they look like they plain don’t belong there. Mir looks like he just happened to walk in after wandering on the beach.

Now, if only they could strongarm Dana into wearing a suit…

Brock is getting more and more Phill Baronesque after each interview.

Straka Dana Interview

Dana: Now anyone can sponsor when they pay.
Straka: Even Affliction?
Dana: Uhh….not everyone.

LMAO!

Dana totally told Brock to sit the fuck back down after he tried to leave.

Oh yeah...

I’m glad Dana didn’t let him walk out of there.

I’m convinced the whole “Screw you guys, I’m outta here” thing Brock does pretty much every interview now is all an act. Kinda bored by it.

I love me some Sexyama!

He's playing the heel

You love him or you hate him. Either way, it’s going to make you want to watch him fight. Just like Tito.

Also, Brock busted out a great line. “We’re at UFC 100 and we’re sitting on $2 chairs.”

Where by awesome you mean childish. “I don’t want to face your questions or listen to anybody else, so I’m taking my ball and going home.”

I mean, when Dana White is the grown-up in a situation…

I always found it sort of silly when you see shots of the promoter standing between the fighters.

Dana is trying to convince everyone that he is as tough as the fighters are and therefore belongs there – or just trying to remind everyone that HE is the main attraction.

Jones! I foresee him becoming my favourite athlete. SO pumped now!

On what he said to Brock Lesnar when the UFC heavyweight champion tried to leave the press conference early:
“‘Sit down.’ He was trying to leave the UFC 100 press conference. … I’m telling you, nobody wants my job. Everybody thinks it looks good; it’s no fun. Try telling a 400-pound guy to sit down.”

When did Brok learn to pronounce Mir properly?

Joke answer: I’m guessing it was when he was tapping. :-)

But really – when did Mur become Mir for him?
