Really? Interesting, I had no idea.
Due to Cheick Kongo's atrocious takedown defense....

I’ll just wait for the list of fights to appear online – too much revisionism. I’ve probably seen most of them, and what I haven’t, I can find online. Frank/Tito is one of the best fights from any org, yet I can’t see them exclude it, and then probably put Griffin/Bonnar at #1.

They need to show more of the fights.

Something about this countdown really bothers me . . .
I cant figure out what it is. Maybe its the fact that War Machine is involved in any list that is suppossed to be a list of historical importance to mma. For some reason, not a single fight they showed filled me with any sense of awe that made me think they were of epic importance. I compare this with the USA Today/BE Top 50 list and its not even close. Every fight on there makes me think “Thats important” or “If i had to write a book about the history of mma, i would need to talk about that fight”.
Maybe its the lack of scope though. Most of the fights were from within the last 5 years. Almost all the fighters careers are still going on. Its really hard to look at something in perspective when its still going on.
Also, GSP-Serra 1 got totally snubbed. That is arguably the greatest upset in mma history. It should be top 10.

there were some other fights in there that got short shrift too
Like Newton vs Miletich. It pains me that that fight is dumped down there with War Machine.

I liketed it, I liketed it. lol
I know all the fights shown weren’t “epic” but man, we’re talking about 100 fights here. The War Machine fight really was good too so I’m not pissed about it. What I’m happy about is that they’re actually talking about and showing fighters that aren’t even in the UFC anymore.
lol at the Affliction blur on Chucks walkout shirt.
Fans: FEDOR! FEDOR! FEDOR!
Goldie: The crowd seems to be chanting "Kongo" here, Joe.

There have been better fights of course, but this program was meant to fill in the new MMA fans on what they’ve been missing all these years. Consider the show UFC 101.

Consider the show UFC 101.
UFC 101 is going to be 10 times better than this crap with Penn/Florian and Silva/Forrest. Yes, I know what you meant.

I don’t know, it seems like a good idea but with all the fights they have basically banned from the show it just doesn’t seem to have much meaning. When they have fights like Jardine/Liddell which was only interesting in the context of Chuck being pushed further down the ladder it just makes it seem like they were really reaching to come up with 100 great fights when it should be easy.

Just sit back and enjoy… or don’t.
I kinda liked the commentary from some of the fighters.

Bottom line:
Omitting great fights because Dana doesn’t like the winner is a bush league move.
It doesn’t help the UFC – or MMA in general – it only hurts.
If you see Mark Coleman in person, drop $5 on the floor and watch the fun as he tries in vain to bend down and pick it up.
