good fight
Eastman is a perfect tune up fight for Arona. If he doesn’t have his head in the game we’ll find out quick.

agreed. I hope Arona looks really good, because i would love to see a game Arona in the UFC in the next year.

What's the weight?
Eastman is way too small to take on Arona. Total joke of a match.

no he's not
Eastman fought at light heavyweight for most of his career.

He's fought as a stupidly out-sized light heavyweight most of his career.
And Arona can and has legitimately competed at heavyweight.

Like who?
He took Fedor to a decision and stopped Overeem. Seems like a legit heavyweight to me.

competing with heavyweights has nothing to do with arona being big or small at LHW.. all that says is that he is good enough to hang with the big boys..
BJ Penn also competed with guys who are way bigger than him.. he fought the LHW champ, beat Matt Hughes and took St. Pierre to a decision.. doesn’t make him a big fighter..

You have no idea what you're talking about...
Seriously. Arona has stated in numerous interviews that he walks around at exactly 5’11 and the man is only 5’11. If Eastman can weigh-in at 205, then he’s roughly the same size as Arona. If you actually look at Arona, you’d realize that he has a smallish frame and really isn’t that big.

Excuse. He walks around at exactly 205.

Arona is 5’11" and Monson is 5’9". Is Monson not a legit heavyweight?
Whatever. Eastman is a decent wrestler, but Arona will take him down either from any position owing to superior strength. That’s all I was saying. Not interested in the fight because I know exactly how it will play out already.

I wonder why Arona decided to sit out for so long. I know it was his decision – he wasn’t forced to do it – just curious as to the motivating factor.

I’m wondering why too…Could it have anything to do with the Rampage slam? That thing looked like a career ender, and probably caused significant brain/head damage.
After watching that KO, I honestly didn’t think we’d ever see him fighting again. Does anyone know how many times he’s been knocked out in his career?
A few years back my favorite L.A. Kings hockey player, Adam Deadmarsh, had to retire real early because he had a few concussions, and they prevented him from even training properly. I’m assuming that Arona had to sit out to heal properly, but it’s good to see he has recovered. (hopefully)

The Rampage slam was before he ended up being Wanderlei twice (yeah, that’s right… twice). It was also before he made it to the finals of the 05 Grand Prix.

Thats cool…I couldn’t remember how long ago that was. So then machavellian’s Q still stands, and I wonder along with him : Why did he sit out for so long?

I always enjoyed watching Arona.. Hopefully he learned to tuck his chin and worked on improving his boxing during the time off.
