Mixed Martial Artwork: Bruce Buffer

UFC 100 is coming so i decided to make another edition of Mixed Martial Artwork that was to be focused on one of the key figures in the card, the "Veteran Voice of the Octagon", Bruce Buffer. The first piece by Rising-Phoenix87 was done in photoshop. He went to the UFC card in Dublin and had it signed by Bruce himself. The second piece is a traditional drawing of Bruce Buffer and Mike Swick playing poker. One thing most fans don't know about them is that they are both very talented pro/semi-pro poker players. The artist was commissioned to do this, hence the full-tilt poker logos.... Here's to hoping we see the Buffer360 on UFC 100.

I was thinking it was a roided up Quintin Tarantino and the love child of Jack Nicholson and Josh Walsh doing playing poker in the octagon while Randy Couture is clearly waiting with his posse for his fight.

Got a print signed by himself at the O2 in Dublin aswell ont he 17 of January 09.
He took a very good look at it, said it was very well done, even personalised the autograph to me (which I think he wasn’t doin for other peoples) shook my hand for ti and even thanked me for taking the time to do soemthing like that. Happy days.

Tadahhh!! Here is the finished picture for Ultimate Fighter Mike “Quick” Swick I was commissioned to do back in October. Now, 1 & 1/2 months and 65+ hrs of work later…I get to unveil it.
This is UFC’s Mike Swick and Bruce Buffer playing head to head poker in a cage full of zombies and surrounded by flames. They are both sponsored poker players for Full-tiltPoker.com and plan on selling prints of/posting this piece on the each of their websites.

This pic was a lot of fun to work on, especially because Mike wanted zombies, chicks, and chaos in the art. So far, this is the most involved piece I’ve ever worked on. I did the cage, Mike, Bruce, the zombies, and the table ALL on separate pages. Once I got the art the way they wanted it, I put it all together and began coloring. Every 8-10 hrs, I’d send a WIP version to them and await their approval before continuing. I had to also design the cards and chips…meaning I hand drew each face card and each chip. The cards are actually pretty detailed, considering I drew them at about 4" tall each, and then scanned, colored, and imported them into the main image. Oh well, I could go on and on about why it took me forever to complete, but I won’t. The actual size of this piece is 11″×17″. Enjoy!
