I think this would be a very competitive fight. Luis Cane certainly has the sharper punches and decent leg kicks but Rich Franklin, I think, has the more diversified skill-set both on the ground and on the feet. Yes, I know Cane is a purple belt or a brown belt but I’m sure he’s not on Rich’s level. But it won’t go to the ground anyway. I predict a decision slugfest which Franklin will closely come away with.
Considering all of the top contenders already being booked
this fight makes perfect sense. Make it happen Dana!

It'd be badass
if the UFC put this fight together.
Winner is instantly thrust into contender status, probably for a title eliminator fight.

I was very unimpressed with his last performance, if his defence and gas tank are in the same shape as before, Rich is gonna tear that ass up. And I’m not thoroughly convinced that Cane is the next big thing, even going back to the Soko fight.

I was very impressed by Cane against Cantwell because I think Cantwell is the real deal. And how do you not love Cane after taking everything Soko had to throw at him and then putting his ass out?

One thing that Cane does that’s similar to what WEC Featherweight Champion Mike Brown does is to constantly push forward even win getting hit. While that may be a bad thing to some, I really have yet to see Cane get dropped. I remember Cane taking a flush head kick to the chin by Cantwell, and Cane just kept pushing forward is if he wasn’t even hit.

![Rich Franklin tells MMA Torch he doesn't need surgery after all: "Everything at this point in time is going real well. I had a cast above my elbow to my mid bicep, and I got that cut off on Monday. They put a [new] cast below the elbow, it's like a plastic molded cast with the Velcro straps so I can actually take it on and off when I'm showering - which is great because it gives my arm a break from being stuck in something - but recovery seems to be going real well, the doctor likes what he sees in the bone growth and the alignment and all that kind of stuff, so it's looking promising to not [need to] have surgery at this point in time."](http://cdn0.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/132078/1057_small.jpg)
