Paul "Semtex" Daley to the UFC?

According to an interview with mirror.co.uk

Star-divide

When asked if he was upset about the fall of Affliction, Paul had this to say:

A lot of good things has come from it as you'll see in the coming days. I can't really say much, but what I can say is that I've got a gym which I'm just going to view now as we speak. Well, I've got somewhere that I could possibly have a gym. And I've got a contract with another organisation, but I can't say anything ..yet. But I do have a contract in hand and it will be signed and it is for four fights, and when you find out, it will be big news, so get ready.

When cornered and asked if it were the same organization that snatched up Babalu and Mousasi, Daley replied:

Oh no, no, no. You'll be surprised, it isn't them.

No, no, no, it's not Strikeforce

There could be a bunch of big news coming out on Friday. This should be interesting.

Nice addition to the UFC roster. First fight should be against Dan Hardy at UFC 105

why would they put them against each other?

the UK guys would be rooting for both guys if they face American fighters

I just think its a good fight. I wasn’t even thinking about the fans. If not Hardy, then Marcus Davis.

I'm down with Paul Daley being in the UFC...

mostly because his accent reminds me of the guy who really liked soccer in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. I kid, I kid. I like his style and Semtex is the best nickname in MMA. I just hope he gets a ground game.

Total rumor from the UG:

Someone on the Cagewarriors forum with inside knowledge says it’s Daley-Davis at 105. Shit just got real.

Daley

has the power in ether one of his hands to knock out anyone amd I mean ANYONE in the WW division.

Problem is, once he hits the mat he’s finished.

OK signing by the UFC but nothing to get too excited about. He won’t get by Fitch and probably wont get by Koscheck, Alves, Hughes, Kampman, Anthony Johnson, Swick, Larson or Condit. I would give him a good shot against Davis, Hardy, Thiago or PArisiyan though.

Karo would judo toss him all over the cage.

Daley is a dangerous opponent for anyone dumb enough to stand in front of him, but he is an easy win for most competent grapplers (unless they decide to Stand & Wang with him).

good pickup

daley is just awful on the mat though.

id pick him to knock out marcus davis though.

I would say he will be 2 and out in the UFC. Just to one dimensional, imo. Of course, this all depends on the matchmaking.

If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.

It all depends on the matchups.

Put him against his fellow strikers &/or grapplers who have a tendency to stand & Wang and he could very well KO them all. Put him up against guys with solid takedowns and top control who actually use their grappling skills, and he’ll get slaughtered. Joe Silva could give him the Huerta treatment and turn him into a star, or he could give him the Nakamura treatment and drum him out of the UFC in record time.

My advice to Paul Daley … be VERY nice to that tiny hispanic fella.
