Seems kind of what we thought it would be. Another way to appeal to the new or casual fan and give them a brief history lesson while incorporating the profit side of things for the business crowd that watches CNBC. Worth watching for most of us if you’re bored, but you won’t miss anything if you don’t.

Or if you watch everything a certain acronymed organization puts on tv
That’s right I’m talking about CNBC nuthuggers.
Squawk Box in top 3 p4p?!
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
When I say MMA I have to explain that it’s like the UFC, so I guess it’s UFC now, like NFL.

Meh.
MMA was a ridiculous pro-wrasslin’ based name anyway. Antonio Inoki coined the term to describe his style-versus-style gimmick in the 1970s and Jeff Blatnick adopted it as a more sanitary name for the sport in an effort to battle the ‘human cockfighting’ image.
I have always preferred ‘freestyle fighting’ myself. Mixed Martial Arts was always a little too TMA sounding for my tastes.
