Marlon Sandro def. Nick Denis via KO (Punches) at 0:19 of Round 1

Masanori Kanehara def. Chan Sung Jung via Unanimous Decision (30-29, 30-29, 29-28)

Michihiro Omigawa def. Nam Phan via TKO (Punches) at 4:52 of Round 1

Hatsu Hioki def. Ronnie Mann via Submission (Triangle and Punches) at 3:09 of Round 1

It’s absolutely ridiculous that this is still going to be tape delayed. The only good reason to delay it in the first place was because of the Affliction card, but now that that’s not happening there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be showing this live.

Liveblog, y'all.
Stay up with the nightcrawlers.
Don’t have an exact time yet, but I’m guessing Friday nighit / Saturday morning around 3AM.
FML
I can’t make that one.

Well, they were planning on focusing on Affliction, live weigh-ins and live undercard between Friday and Saturday. It is tough to change all that around a week before the event. It’s understandable in this situation.

Funny, that’s the fight I’m least excited about on the main card. I don’t expect much from Ivanov in MMA.
Top 5 Sengoku IX Fights I’m Stoked to See:
5. Misaki-Nakamura
Nakamura badly wants a rematch with Santiago, and Misaki has nothing to lose. Plus I don’t think these guys like each other anyway.
4. Gono-Hornbuckle
Hornbuckle is no scrub and Gono had better come correct for this fight, or it’ll look like his last couple in the UFC.
3. Jaggers-Jung
27 fights combined with only 4 decisions. Korean Zombie FTW.
2. Omigawa-Sandro
Like most everyone else, I’ve fallen in love with the reinvented Omigawa, and if he can pull this off… holy shit. If not, Sandro remains unbeaten, is still the man and hopefully goes on to flog Hioki in the finals.
1. Kitaoka-Hirota
‘Cause Kitaoka is never not fun to watch, and Hirota’s hands present something of a legitimate challenge.
Honorable mention to all three of the Sengoku Gold Cup finals, which will be BANANERS but probably won’t air for a while. The bantamweight fight is a pick’em with two great prospects, and Usuda and Osawa are both future stars for Sengoku.

The card is strong all around
Omigawa-Sandro has me particularly pumped up.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
You just got educated by Mr. Nelson.

Does HDNET have ANY excuse for not showing this live now?
