Shooto Brazil 13: Four Titles on the Line, Plus First-Ever Female Fight

Shooto_logo_medium

The full card for Shooto Brazil 13 has been released, and it includes the South American promotion's first female bout, where the experienced Vanessa Porto will take on 20-year-old Nova União purple belt Claudia Gadelha. Also on the slate are four championship matches - including the return of former Sengoku fighter and current Shooto light-heavyweight champ Siyar Bahadurzada - plus the homecoming of Willamy "Chiquerinho," who took many by surprise by choking out Yusuke Endo at Shooto's massive 20th Anniversary show in Tokyo. (Video below.) He's apparently vacating his South American lightweight belt, and word is he'll compete for a world title in Japan before the end of the year.

Here's the complete list of bouts for the show - which will be televised live on Brazil's Combate TV - courtesy of Gladelha and Tatame.

In terms of guys who are still somewhat up-and-coming and could make an impact on the world scene, Chiquerinho and Hernani Perpetuo are definite prospects. As far as guys who are already well-established and sure to put on good fights, Siyar vs. Batata (“Potato,” by the way) and Barao vs. Terere should be awesome.

Thank you Both

Will check this card out for sure.

Actually, looking down this card… it’s solid.

Chiquerinho and Perpetuo are great prospects to watch, and Siyar vs. Silva is a solid match-up. As Nelson said, Barao vs. Terere is a great bout. Andre Santos isn’t bad either. Should be a very solid event, I’ll have to try to catch this one.

Nova Uniao could concievably win four title bouts in one evening.

And they have 4 other guys fighting in non-title bouts.

That’s boss.

Perhaps the noise over having guys fight teammates is merely in anticipation of the potential storm of Nova Uniao prospects.

It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
