Quote of the Day 2: Fedor Emelianenko Talks Potential Affliction Trilogy Foes, Vitor Belfort and Brett Rogers
"You know, I'm being really honest here. I am equally interested in a fight with either Belfort or Rogers. I've never fought with either one. I used to watch Belfort fight, even before I started competing. So there is a history there for me with him. It is very interesting to me; he was a fighter who faced and beat a lot of the greatest fighters in MMA at the time. Rogers is a fighter who is tearing through the heavyweight division with 10 fights and 10 wins. And, I have to add, he beat Arlovski.
"To be honest, in terms of his speed at that weight, I honestly don't know if being heavier is an advantage with a fighter who is as fast as him at his current weight. I have always found it harder to fight the lighter, faster guys, rather than the really big, plodding heavy and super heavyweights. And Belfort has always stood out in terms of his speed."
Fedor Emelianenko talking to Sherdog.
The poll is a Sherdog readers' poll, that shows the fans want to see Fedor vs Rogers.

Am I insane, or is this the way the world ends?
24 hour Fedor feed. All Fedor, all the time.
Keep firing Assholes!
Thanks to Bisping's reenactment of the Battle of Cowpens, walla walla walla I'm an idiot.
Look guys...
I get it…those posts are “funny” but they also bump legitimately good fanposts from the sidebar. So going forward they will be deleted.

So when are they suppose to pick an opponent?
Or are they going to take a page from the old WCW and sell the event on a mystery opponent?
only to have it turn out to be Rick Steiner?

On the other hand
Somehow I don’t see Scott Steiner passing any kind of drug test.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.

Thats cause Rogers is a beast.
Everyone wants to see a heavyweight like him that is just intimidating as hell and can punch a hole through peoples faces.
He reminds me of George Foreman for his size and power, but I am glad he is not an a-hole like the 70s-Foreman was.
Whoever does get the nod
They should consider geting some cameras on them ASAP for final week of preparation (if they are so inclined). A documentary about having one weeks notice to fight the # 1 heavyweight in MMA could be interesting. Or it could be boring, I dunno.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
That poll shows that Sherdog is inhabited by lemmings
Evidence? Look at who’s #2.

Ok, I don’t get the love for Jeff Monson… he gets crushed by Fedor in a very boring fashion. At least Bobby Lashley getting crushed would be entertaining to watch for the 30 seconds it lasts.
George Lucas is a major douche bag... do everyone a favor and forget how to use the internet.
The criteria are to find a fighter, preferably a heavy weight, who would be able to step in on short notice and fight Fedor. Monson has wanted to fight Fedor, is seemingly always in preparation for a fight, and is experienced and durable enough for the fight to actually be relevant. It also has the benefit of not disrupting any of the fights already on the card. A Rogers fight wouldn’t be absurd, but it seemed to me like Jeff Monson has earned the shot.
As far as how boringly he loses—it’s always possible, but I just don’t see it. He’s an solid grappler and has proven he can take a shot. People remember the Sylvia fight too strongly, and nobody seems to recall his reasonably interesting fight with Barnett.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
theres potential...
…in everyone of them fighters.
The fact that its such short notice will be a disadvantage to both fighters, them not training for fedor and fedor goin in there with a gameplan originally for barnett.
Either way,if its belfort and his quick hands knock out fedor, his legacy is fucked!

I think that Monson has the best chance of putting up a decent fight out of all the potential opponents. Belfort is fast, but he gives up weight. Even though Brett Rogers is on a hot streak, he does not have the skill and conditioning to fight THE best heavyweight in the world. There’s no need to put Lashley in the discussion. Buentello is a savvy veteran, but no match for Fedor. And I really can’t say about Mo; i’ll admit, i’ve never seen him fight.
