BJ: “Kenny’s getting a little cocky these days..”
cut to scene of BJ running on the beach wearing a “Penn for Governor” t-shirt.
Golden editing.

Am I the only one that really feels that Kenny can beat BJ? I just see Kenny being too fast and too technical for BJ. I’ve seen all BJ’s fights, I know he’s good, but I don’t see him able to overwhelm Florian like he has been able to the shorter, slowers, wrestlers he’s fought. I think Kenny just has too many ways of beating BJ.
I also think we may see two champions go down, I just don’t see Silva pushing Forrest around the way he has the smaller weaker fighters in his weight class. It’ll be interesting for sure. I give Kenny a better chance at beating BJ than I give Forrest at beating Silva, but I still think both can win if they have a good game plan.

Kenny has a chance. Using my amazing abilities to turn opinion and unsubstantiated facts into numerical values, Kenny wins the fight 30% of the time.

What, outside of a cut or decision, are Kenny's ways of winning?
The odds of him knocking BJ down (let alone knocking him out) are only slightly worse than the odds of him being able to take BJ down in the fight…Neither chance is particularly great.
There’s always a chance on any given night, but realistically, BJ has better hands, better BJJ, better chin, better takedown defense, and more experience against top competition…BJ by TKO or submission (set up by a knockdown) in the round 1.

Although it will certainly be an exciting fight, I don’t see Forrest getting past Anderson. Even if Forrest pushes the pace, Silva will just become more of a threat on the feat. He’s a counter-striker. Why do you think his fights with Cote and Leites were so boring? because neither of those two guys came forward with their striking. Anderson also has the better ground game, so you know Forrest will try and stand with him.
Remember what happen in Forrest vs Jardine? Expect that x100.
If someone is going to beat BJ, it’s going to be Florian the tactician. He is going to outwork and out-point BJ, and I expect Kenny to finish the fight in the later rounds.

I don't see it
It takes GSP 4 rounds…and most likely would’ve finished Penn cleanly in the 5th.
But KenFlo will wear Penn down equally as impressively as GSP and finish a Penn who’s in much better shape at 155?
I seriously can’t see that scenario.

I’d have to agree there that I don’t see Kenny finishing BJ. BJ, regardless of how much of a baby he is, is quite a tough. If Kenny wins, it’ll be by decision.
I love me some Sexyama!

GSP basically held him down for 4 rounds.

And beat the crap out of him while doing so. Don’t forget that part.

Because being held down for four rounds makes you quit...
He got concussion and barely remembers the fight. I dare say he was beaten up.

No, GSP basically smashed BJ’s head in for 3 rounds, bringing BJ to tears in his corner between rounds and causing him to quit.

I will believe BJ's conditioning when I see it.
How does 155 give him better cardio? It only really means that he watches his diet a bit and sits in a sauna before the fight. Doesn’t mean he was working any harder on his cardio.
This is how Kenny can win the fight, and for mine its a pretty decent shot. I bet on BJ, don’t get me wrong, but Kenny can definately take this when BJ gasses.
BJ needs to finish in the first 3 rounds or he is in trouble, and Kenflo will be tough to finish…

He may knock Forrest out, but there’s no reason to think this will be anything like the Jardine fight. Forrest doesn’t fight the same way at all, and Anderson is nothing like Jardine.
The key for Forrest is to land and get out, frustrate Anderson a little early, and then take him down when he comes forward. Can he do it? No idea.

At first i was thinking kenny might have a decent chance at winning..
but then i saw that BJ has been training with better sparring partners now..

Correction:
BJ’s been featuring better sparring partners in his mini video blog. I’ve seen no evidence of BJ actually training with them ;)

These things always spoil the countdown shows. :( By the time I watch them I feel like I’ve already seen it. But I just can’t resist, damnit! lol

The only area that Florian has over BJ is kicks. BJ has better BJJ, much better boxing, and better wrestling. His takedown defense is obviously phenomenal. He was able to stuff GSP, probably the best MMA wrestler and a much bigger and stronger opponent, until he gassed. His offensive wrestling is pretty underrated as people tend to forget how he was able to pretty much take a very good wrestler in Takanori Gomi down at will. Kenny’s a great, well-rounded fighter, but this is a classic case of “anything you can do I can do better.”

No doubt BJ is more talented
He is a better fighter, but not better conditioned nor does he come in with good gameplans.

The cardio question is definitely a valid one, but I don’t think cardio will be much of an issue here. He looked really really good against Sherk in their fight and at 155 he’ll naturally have more gas just based on natural physiology. Kenny doesn’t have the wrestling to wear BJ down and BJ has an iron chin to boot so I don’t see him getting some kind of flash knockout either. And just based on their respective resumes, Kenny doesn’t really have elite fighters on there. He’s got two solid names in Joe Stevenson and Joe Lauzon, but after that there’s nobody. Compare that to BJ’s list of Sherk, Stevenson, Hughes, Gomi, Uno, Serra, Pulver, two Gracies at MW, and competitive losses to LHW Lyoto Machida and P4P King GSP and yeah BJ’s got a really strong headhunting list to back him up.
