Is Dave Camarillo Training Kenny Florian to Face BJ Penn?
If you're like me, you receive plenty of Twitter updates from MMA fighters. Normally, I don't pay too much attention to them, but one from Kenny Florian took me by surprise:
Kenny_Florian View my new spoof film "Don't Pull Half Guard" Pt 1 - http://tinyurl.com/mwfz4u Pt 2 - http://tinyurl.com/nxydez19 minutes ago from web
Of course, I clicked through to the videos, and what did I see?
A spoof film starring Kenny, and well-known BJJ trainer Dave Camarillo of the American Kickboxing Academy, in black face no less.
That struck me as pretty odd, since Dave is known to be buddies with BJ Penn, Kenny's opponent at UFC 101. They both came up in Ralph Gracie's BJJ academy in California, and even authored a book together, "BJJ Closed Guard" which you can see here.
Camarillo also briefly appeared in the Renzo Gracie Legacy documentary, helping BJ train for the Renzo fight.
So does it strike anyone else as odd that Kenny and Dave are so buddy-buddy right before UFC 101? Could Kenny have enlisted Dave for help with combatting BJ's monster ground game? Perhaps they were just goofing around after taping Time Warp, but you never know...

whatever is going on the "film"
is not funny and is almost unwatchable.
And what is Camarillo thinking getting into blackface? Major taboo right there.

What is blackface?

Why the blackface? I don’t get it.

im suprised
all the negativity towards it…i thought its a kind of tropic thunderish spoof on mcdojos? i thought it was funny, i watched both parts. kenny florian is like a smaller ben stiller. when he says “hes a 300X world champion, in martial arts…that are mixed.” i thought that was hilarious, and sounded exactly like something K-flo would say

Surprised at the negativity? Really?
As someone else pointed out on another post of this video, Robert Downey Jr. barely got away with it. It’s highly offensive and stupid. I thought Kenny was smarter than that.

I laughed my ass off at Tropical Thunder – I thought that was RDJ’s best work

I agree.
I too thought it was hilarious. But RDJ, he is not.

Camarillo is not training Florian
It has to do with this site: http://www.mmafaestro.com/ which is kind alike a virtuel dojo… I think? Online training and that stuff… It´s run by Klint Klaas and Camarillo plays a big part in it to. Florian is one of the trainers on hand you can study with… Online. Lesnars wrestling coach is there to. Thoese videos are properly old, highly doubt he would train Florian to fight Penn, also Camarillo worked with Penn on his lasted book -

!["I matured a lot after leaving the UFC, I began to see things with different eyes, I changed my game to follow the trend of the MMA world.
