"We are working on it now," a source inside "The Snowman’s" camp told Fighters.com Wednesday afternoon. Monson is excited about the possibility.

Not an interesting fight at all. I’m a Monson fan, but this is not an interesting fight. He might even lay and pray on Fedor for 25 minutes. Either way, not a fight I would pay to see.
LOL
At someone being on top of Fedor for 25 minutes.

i agree
i’m pretty disappointed that this fight won’t happen if vitor wins the sweepstakes.

Bleh, Belfort appears to be official. Though, I’d hold off for further confirmation.
Anything that keeps the Belfort/Santiago bout on the card is fine by me.

He’s definitely on a roll, but he’s fringe top 10 at best. The Sergei win was big, but N/S’ing 10 cans a month shouldn’t get you in the top 10.

Top 10 or not, I think it'd be an ok fight, considering the circumstances
Monson’s paid his dues, and he something of a look and personality. It’d be like a boxing movie, even (or perhaps especially) if he loses.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
We have him 12th.

That makes a pretty good point:
I was considering this fight from a somewhat esoteric perspective, but from a rankings standpoint (as per the “Consensus” rankings), Monson is the highest ranked HW outside of the UFC who hasn’t tested positive for drugs, injured himself, or already turned down the fight. And he just so happens to have been sorta chasing Fedor for years and is in the midst of some sort of crazy perpetual camp.
When they announce that Fedor is fighting Belfort, I’m going to be miffed.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
Shortest HW fight ever? And I ain’t talkin about how long the fight takes.

I like Monson
and I hope he does well. I can’t imagine him beating Fedor, but if he should manage, to the uproar and confusion to follow will be amazing.

awwwwwwwwwwwww!!
He’s changed since I last saw him – not quite as scary looking :)

Bring on Monson, that’s who I wanna see.
Some people might say that winning a fight makes you a better fighter but I don’t agree with that.- BlueberryMuffin

It's official.
All members of the Monson bandwagon, please meet at the corner of Crazy Street, Crazy Sreet, and Crazy Street. Please show your tattoo upon arrival and don’t bring any spray paint cans.
