Turned it into a push.

I defy anyone to not like Forrest Griffin.

That said…he’s probably going to sleep in this fight.

Forrest is just a straight shooter, gotta love a guy who doesn’t make excuses for losses.

I’m really pulling for Forrest. It would be huge if he could find a way to dethrone Silva. He is definitely the everyman of the UFC.

But I have to agree, dude is probably going to get KTFO’d. And that saddens me deeply.

If Rampage didn't do it...

Silva sure won’t, Please, The Silva worship is killing me, Forrest is ten times better than the three scrubs who beat him, Why doesn’t he have a chance?? Irvin, Cote, Leites, vs Shogun, Rampage, and Evans, C’mon, theres no comparison in the level of their competition. I hope Griffin G&P’s Anderson.

Doesn't anybody think before they speak/post anymore?

Totally different Forrest.

Hey look, there’s that logo again. Where have I seen that before?

I don’t know if I’m betting either of the top two fights. I feel like a wiener, but I felt more confident picking Cain over Kongo than either of these two fights.

Heres Forrest's best chance

Immediate charge to push Silva back into the cage even if he has to absorb punishment to do so and work his size and strength advantage to get the takedown and make Spider work from his back. Any hesitation or attempts to trade standing is going to lead to a facial reconstruction.

It's kind of sad for Griffin really....

Because MMA fans are already talking about who Anderson’s next opponent should be. Also, if Griffin pulls off the upset, there is the built-in excuse that Anderson was fighting at a higher weight class. Should Anderson win, then he looks all the more dominant. Being a fan of Anderson Silva, I am going with Anderson to win this all the way.

It’s a great opportunity for Forrest. It will be a career making win for him if he wins, who cares if nerds on Sherdog chalk it up to the weight class?

by Michael Rome on Jul 19, 2009 8:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Exactly...

If he didn’t feel confident at fighting 205, he sure as hell wouldn’t have took a fight with one of the more large 205’rs in Forrest. A loss is a loss either way.

Shogun was supposed to walk through Forrest as well…

Forrest winning = automatic title shot right?

by Zack Gobie on Jul 19, 2009 11:34 PM EDT reply actions

Rampage and Rashad are fighting for the #1 contendership at UFC 107, so no automatic title shot. I definitely think Forrest would get a #1 contender’s match (against who, I don’t know) while the winner of Rampage/Rashad fights the winner of Shogun/Machida.

by Nogoodnameideas on Jul 20, 2009 1:09 AM EDT up reply actions

There is no way Machida/Rashad II will happen anytime soon.
