Today on MMA Nation on 106.7 WJFK: Tom Atencio, Brian Bowles

Mmanation_medium

Today on "MMA Nation" we'll be joined by Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio. We'll ask Atencio about his views on Brock Lesnar, how likely it is we'll see Fedor vs. Lesnar by 2011 and more.

We'll also talk to the number one bantamweight contender in the WEC, Brian Bowles, as he prepares for his title fight against current champion Miguel Torres. We'll ask Brian about Torres' previous fights, training at the Hardcore Gym and more

And, of course, all of the Brock Lesnar talk that quite honestly, nearly every one has gotten wrong.

"MMA Nation" airs every Saturday 7:00pm EST to 9:00pm EST on 106.7 WJFK. To listen live over the Internet, go to WJFK's website and click "Listen Live".

I'm also now on Twitter: @mmanation.

"MMA Nation" is also available by podcast on iTunes.

Number to call: 800-636-1067

Talk to you then.

Some people might say that winning a fight makes you a better fighter but I don’t agree with that.- BlueberryMuffin

I assume you mean number one contender.

I dislike Matt Hughes and Twidder.

I am having an epic fail of a wake up.

I think Ubernoober’s Fanpost summed it up best.

Brock hit Randy a million times after he dropped him and before the ref stopped it….

numbers arent going anywhere

They should dump the numbers and have different annual events like WWE does.

I dislike Matt Hughes and Twidder.

you’re right. you can only do that with a few out of the 12 or so major shows.

“Utlimate” 2009 for the year end shows. at most around 4 can become “staple names”. The numbers wont be dropped just more in the background for those.

by mmalogic on Jul 18, 2009 8:01 PM EDT up reply actions

From the UFC’s perspective, numbers are now part of their brand power. Focusing on the names makes it more the names than UFC that draws.

yep… its much better having people watch UFC 107 with GSP vs Swick as the headliner rather than having people watch GSP vs Swick.
