Rickson Gracie Thinks he can Submit Both Brock Lesnar and Fedor Emelianenko
After watching UFC 100, the Rio De Janeiro Times reports that Rickson Gracie said he can beat both Fedor and Brock, with Lesnar being the easier guy to submit:
"The UFC champion is impressive as an athlete. But he has holes in his game like anybody else. Technically, he is not as good as Fedor. It would take me longer to submit Fedor than it would him
I am not worried about his abilities. Whether he punches at me on the ground or standing, it is only a matter of time. In some ways, it is easier if he tries to punch at me standing. All the simpler to take him down. It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless."
Rickson Gracie is a 50 yearold 8th degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black belt and is the older brother of UFC hall of famer, Royce Gracie. Sherdog has his MMA record at 11-0, but he claims to have fought around 400 matches while remaining undefeated. He hasn't fought since the year 2000, and has made claims in the past that Fedor has so-so technical skills and he is 100% sure that he'd submit him.
It is also interesting to note that the late Helio Gracie said that Rickson counts practices and amateur bouts in his 400-0 record, and that if Helio did that also, he'd probably have a million fights in his record.

First Royce said he’ll sell out any event he’s a part of and now Rickson claims he’d make both Brock and Fedor tap… Can’t blame those Gracies for lack of faith in themselves, can we?

Exactly…
Fortunately for Rickson, the Gracie family has a well-planned method for dealing with athletes they will never fight. Talk as much trash about successful athletes as you can, and it will make you relevant again. That is how they compensate for not being able to actually compete with a well-rounded athlete these days. I think he’d probably beat Lesnar but Fedor, that’s a stretch. I’m not saying Rickson or Royce aren’t great at BJJ but if you notice, there hasn’t been a successful MMA Gracie fighter since the days when people didn’t even train grappling. The only one who is a real mixed-martial artist is Renzo.
LOL at him beating lesnar... I'll have what you and rickson are taking!
A 50 year old 190-ish pound, one dimensional hits guy will beat lesnar? Frank Mir got beat up. rickson is not even half the mma fighter frank is..

You're right.
I don’t really think he’d beat Lesnar (I realize that I said otherwise) but as Rickson hinted, a fight against Lesnar would be the better option for him due to his lack of submission experience. I’m sure in reality, Rickson would just get battered on the feet simply because I don’t think Rickson’s boxing was ever anything above a D.
Rickson by strangle!
And here I thought “Rickson by Armbar” was the ultimate one liner.

This Guy...
needs to GTFO… Seriously. He brings nothing to the sport by standing on the sidelines for 5 years and saying “I could beat this guy, and that guy”…either man up and fight, or stop talking.
I think Hughes proved that a really good wrestler, for the most part, can neutralize a really good BJJ player. Plus Brock would have 100 +lbs on him probably
Dude, Hughes vs. Rickson might actually be the fight that makes sense!

A really good BJJ guy can neutralize a wrestler as well, I know from experience being a wrestler. The key is a combo of both.
i agree that rickson is delusional and wouldnt stand a chance against either of these guys. but you have to realize that the gracies are getting old, especially rickson, and much like many of our dads (from my generation) it is hard to accept that the younger generation is better, and more evolved, and in their prime. its human nature.
to say rickson needs to “man up” is blasphemy in mma terms. Watch the old school fights where he fought guys with no rules, weight classes, and seriously tough dudes in brazil. The gracies would fight anyone anywhere at a time when they needed to prove their art.
saying hughes neutralized royce becuase hes a wrestler is a joke. hughes himself will try and say “american wrestling won” but anyone with eyes and knowledge of grappling could see hughes used his top game from wrestling background, but it was his BJJ training and grappling ability that won him that fight.
Rickson, I’ll bet Miguel Torres against you tonight.

Nothing more satisfying than to see Gracie losing
Royler Gracie gets murdered by Genki Sudo
Royler Gracie gets triangled by Eddie Bravo
Royce Gracie gets owned by Kazuki Sakuraba & Yoshida Hideiko
Ryan Gracie gets owned by Sakuraba
Renzo Gracie gets owned by Sakuraba & Frank Shamrock
Ralph Gracie gets flying kneed in the face by Kid Yamamoto
*Not to take anything away from their huge influence in the birth MMA in both Japan, Brazil, and U.S.
I can’t stand these arrogant bastards… never admit their defeats… always a fucking sore losers like a kid who drops his ice cream and crying and blaming on his mommy for his fucking mistake.
You have to beat the legend, in order to become the LEGEND
-Melvin Manhoef (after his destruction of Sakuraba)
Renzo Gracie gets owned by Sakuraba & Frank Shamrock
This is only half accurate at best. While Renzo may not have been doing a ton of damage to Frank before Frank illegally kneed him in the head, Renzo pretty much took Frank to the ground when he wanted and controlled the duration of the fight. I’ve been looking for a rematch for a while now.

Ralph Gracie got clipped by Gomi, not Kid
Halph is a funny name.
It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless.
I must be the only one who loves this. It’s not if Rickson submits Fedor and Brock. It’s when. Awesome.
I find it real funny actually.
I can imagine him being 60 years old, screaming at the TV, “Bah, look at that kids, no technique! I’d submit that guy in like 5 mins.. maybe even 3 if i get off this wheel chair..”

A little of topic but since this is somewhat about Brock I’ll throw this up for people to check out.
Paul Heyman has his take up over at Heyman Hustle on Brock Lesnar after UFC 100.
http://heymanhustle.craveonline.com/blogs/21038-paul-heyman-brock-lesnar-the-ultimate-heel-for-ufc
Here is a little bit of it:
Brock Lesnar is not Mike Tyson. He’s not out at night, looking for trouble, trying to quench an insatiable need for the adrenal rush of being “on the brink” at all times.
Nor is Brock Lesnar another version of Muhammad Ali. The former Cassius Clay was a calculating, manipulative media sensation who used the power of the television medium to unravel his opponents (most famously the man he taunted as a"big ugly gorilla" Joe Frazier), all in the frame of smiling, telling jokes, and once reinstated, trying to present himself as flamboyant and colorful, but never dangerous.
Brock Lesnar IS dangerous. Brock Lesnar IS a scary human being. He IS frightening, even to those who know him. But Brock is not going to be a thug. He’s not going to go “looking for trouble.” Brock has taken his aggression, his competitiveness, and his love for physical dominance and has carefully crafted a multi-million dollar career around it.
It’s a pretty good read.
But that would mean he really has to fight. Haha.
Pointing at the tv shouting “you suck” is his specialty.
