Anderson Silva's Manager Ed Soares Skeptical of Georges St Pierre-Anderson Silva Match

"I mean, I guess anything is possible," manager Ed Soares said when asked by Fox Fight Game whether a GSP-Silva fight could be coming soon. "Anything is possible. You know, if that's what the fans want to see, then maybe. But, uh, anything can happen, but I think that's a tough fight for GSP, man."

UFC Light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida also chimes in to deem GSP's karate "ok."

Yea, I think the “ok” wasn’t meant derisively.

In a five round fight at 185lbs GSP has almost no shot against Anderson… GSP knows it and Dana knows it. GSP is a bonafide star all he needs are challengers at 170 and all is fine. Best for his career and best for the UFC.

Moving up 185 is a huge gamble because if you do it right its almost impossible for you to move back down to 170 and be the same.

Regarding the fight:

Will GSP take Anderson down? Yes

Can GSP finish Anderson from top position? NO

Can GSP finish Anderson on the feet? NO

Will Anderson touch GSP in 25 minutes? YES.

The best shot GSP has is if the fights at 175 to 178 and its a 3 rounder.

agreed

and they can easily let demand for the fight build up for six to nine months and not lose anything. Henderson just created a LOT of interest in a rematch with Anderson Silva.
And Maia/Marquardt could very well do the same thing for the winner of that fight.

I am looking forward to a Hendo rematch for sure

If only there was some way to combine Decision Dan the awesome positional control wrestler with Big Right Hand Hollywood Henderson. Some sort of Mixed Martial Art.

Can GSP take Anderson down repeatedly and win a decision? Yeah, maybe. It’d be a good scrap.

Thats what I see as his best shot to win. The question is whether he can keep Silva down and avoid getting rocked in the standup at the start of the round.

Agreed. GSP should stay put and keep dominating.

I think so too.

I don’t understand why people keep wanting to have the fact that ‘size matters’ reasserted.

They want it proven wrong. I’m convinced that there is a little man complex that runs throughout MMA.

The Gracie's could have spared us this if they had only just sent Rickson instead.

Or if Varelans had been some sort of goddamn ninja.
