All except 83 which was Montreal.
Due to Cheick Kongo's atrocious takedown defense....

Pretty amazing, really.
The only one to beat it is the sequel to a fight between arguable the two most identifiable personalities the UFC has ever had.
GSP vs. Serra II is also easy to understand, since it was in Canada.
There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.
Yeah but I’ll bet if you factor in $ of scalped tickets ufc 100 probably on top

A HUGE thank you to Achengy
A bit off topic, but had to say it somewhere.
On topic: I’m surprised this didn’t do better, considering the stacked card and publicity. I thought this would be #1 easily.
Two words:
Federal Bailout. j/k
Basically though, I’d say it’s because of the economy in general. If conditions were the same as Tito/Chuck II, then I’d say it would have pretty easily smashed the record.

I have a feeling
seating capacity played a big part in limiting the official gate of UFC 100. UFC could have probably tacked on an extra $10 a ticket and no one in that crowd would have blanched. Or, conversely, held it at a facility that could hold 18K, and made more money on more tickets.

Exactly, Mandalay Bay is the smallest place they frequent, if it was at MGM it probably would have topped $6 mil.

Dana White said something about trying to keep live audiences to about that number, that to go high starts to dilute “the UFC experience” and he just doesn’t want to do that.
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
And he wants guaranteed sellouts
the LAST thing Dana wanted for UFC 100 was to have to paper the crowd to avoid empty chairs.

Yeah, that PRIDE purchase was a total failure considering Wandy and Hendo were on both and Frank got over by beating Nog.

Crazy.
Brock Lesnar has four fights in the UFC and two of them are already among the top five all-time. Having that in the organization is like a license to print money.
If managed properly
Let him keep pissing on sponsors or if he gets himself DQ’d out of a fight for something stupid… all of a sudden Lesnar isn’t as valuable.
But what little I’ve watched of UFC in the past year, it seems to me Dana White knows what he’s doing.

Believe me, if Bud Light bailed out, Harley Davidson would up their payout and be the main sponsor. Thank god it’s Harley Davidson, because Brock would shit all over Honda. hahaha

![Brazilian TV Exec Says UFC Coming To Brazil in 2011
Danilo Lavieri of Abril.com interviews Terence Paiva, RedeTV! sports director (translation by Chris Nelson):
While (RedeTV!) has been increasing the exposure of MMA, have you looked into broadcasting national events?
In truth, we can't. The agreement with the UFC doesn't allow us to show other fighting championships. But the way around this is to create something here, something like a selective (feeder) for the UFC. That we could broadcast.
Hence the idea of bringing The Ultimate Fighter to Brazil?
When we did the deal with the UFC, they wanted us to broadcast TUF. But our experience with The Contender showed that it doesn't do much. People watch, but it doesn't have the necessary impact. Brazilians want to see Brazilians in action. Brazilians don't like things captioned. So we want to bring TUF here, yes, with Brazilian fighters. But they're different ideas. One does not preclude the other.
Canal Combate's contract with the UFC ends in 2011. Do you really want to get this contract for yourselves?
Not quite. This makes it sound like RedeTV! is the enemy of others. It isn't. We want to broadcast something, something that goes beyond our current deal [21 days after the event takes place]...
And RedeTV! will be partnering with the UFC to bring fights to Brazil?
Also not so. People exaggerate, saying RedeTV! will bring (the UFC to Brazil) and things like this. We're a partner of the UFC and we're going to give them full support so they come here. In fact, they'll be here in 2011. That's for sure. There are some details missing, like where it will take place and whatnot. Now they view us as a market.](http://cdn0.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/133278/redetv_small.jpg)
