UFC Welterweight Georges St Pierre Refuses to Call Out Middleweight Champ Anderson Silva

Enduring a painful post-fight interview with announcer Joe Rogan, an injured UFC welterweight champion Georges St Pierre ducked a series of questions aimed at eliciting a challenge to UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva.

Seconds after taking a well-earned five round decision win over #2 USA TODAY/SB Nation ranked welterweight Thaigo Alves, GSP had to think about his future as an aggressive Joe Rogan dug for the story.

Stepping gingerly from foot-to-foot and unconsciously feeling his injured region, GSP stated he would have to talk to his management and the UFC before deciding what to do next in his career.

Long a target of speculation that he would have to move up to challenge UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, GSP was in the hot seat after the fight called on to make an immediate decision.

It was painful wasnt it. I kept thinking GSP is gonna freak out and scream “I dont wanna fight at MW, ALRIGHT?!?!”

I think he knows that is just a terible matchup for him logistically.

Nate had his chance...

Silva is/may retire soon. I would rather him just fight people he hasn’t already.

Wow so Swick or Kampman could be GSP’s next potential? After beating Alves the way he did with a jacked groin, what hope in hell do either of them have.

GSP

has trouble finishing people at 170. He has ZERO business at 185. I love him and think he might become the best 170 ever but lets not push him into something that can get him hurt.
