After UFC 100, GSP could be biggest draw in UFC history.
After UFC 100, GSP will officially be the biggest draw in UFC history. In terms of ppv buys and ticket sales.
After this event, he will have been main event or co-main event on shows that total over 5 million buys and may hit 5.5 million. If we take out the first Penn/GSP (co-main) and Kos/GSP (co-main), it will still be likely close to 4.5 million buys. But by the time Penn/GSP came around, GSP had just dominated Sherk and Trigg and was at least a bit of a draw himself, so I am including GSP/Penn I. GSP/Kos was under Couture/Gonzaga and some will argue that it had little impact on the overall success, but again that was a fair amount of promotion done regarding that bout.
His first actual headlining bout with Hughes/GSP II which did 500k, 100k more than Hughes/Penn II.
So excluding Penn/GSP I and Kos/GSP, he would be behind Chuck Liddell (about 4.9 million buys), but ahead of Ortiz and Couture.

Lesnar will have the better average (>1 million) after UFC 100.

Yeah, that's impressive but brock will shatter those records with a win on 100.

No, even with UFC 100, Lesnar will still be a ways off. After UFC 100, he will have between 3 and 3.5 million.
His ave will be between 750k and 900k.

How do you figure? It will be Brock’s third fight (second headliner) and he’ll have over three million buys.

Some might say GSP already is the biggest draw.
Americans dig him, but he gets the whole of Canada on their feet too.
If you see Mark Coleman in person, drop $5 on the floor and watch the fun as he tries in vain to bend down and pick it up.

St. Pierre is the second biggest draw they have because of the Canadian numbers he pulls. This is his chance to win over all the casual American fans.

It will be interesting to see how GSP’s gatorade ad campaign affects his numbers. He is the one MMA fighter that is currently drawing mainstream sponsors. Supposedly he is working on a couple of other big sponsorship deals as well.

Sorry, but Lesnar was a bigger draw at UFC 87, and will be a bigger draw at UFC 100 than GSP.

You are seriously underestimating the Canadian numbers that GSP pulls in. That and pretty much every event GSP is on has thousands of Canadian ticket sales. Penn is not a draw by himself, but Penn/GSP did over 800k buys.
Lesnar is likely the biggest draw show to show, but GSP has proven himself to be a huge draw as well. Had Lesnar/Mir been on UFC 98, 100 would still do one million plus.
But my point is that GSP has had the most ticket sales and ppv buys of any UFC fighter.

I HATE that Brock Lesnar will get credit for the UFC 100 Buyrate, when he wasn’t originally supposed to be on this card, and it probably would’ve pulled similar numbers.

I imagine you also hate that he’s the undisputed #2 heavyweight in the world.

Hopefully you can legitimately define the phrase “undisputed #2” for me, friend-o….

It’s pretty unambiguous. Barnett doesn’t even get to count because he hasn’t fought top ten competition since ‘06. He’s beaten Mir and Couture in back to back fights, avenged his only loss, and dominated Herring.
