UFC 100 Snapshot of the Day: Georges St Pierre Nursing Injured Elbow Going Into Title Defense Against Thiago Alves?

CagePotato has more:
Not to alarm any of you Georges St. Pierre fans, but Rush has been looking rather lumpy lately. Though he's made no mention of it in the run up to his UFC 100 fight against Thiago Alves, GSP has been walking around with a cartoonishly swollen elbow — possibly due to bursitis, an inflammation caused by repetitive movement and trauma that may have previously played a role in Marcus Davis's loss to Mike Swick. Will the injury slow down the welterweight champ, or will GSP use that nasty thing as a club to bash Alves's teeth down his throat?
This post from the UG is worth noting as well:
It's bursitis, it's hilarious that with so many f**king elite so called active training members on this forum that you can't recognize a very common injury.
It's not even serious in the context of a title fight. Everyone fights injured, that's minor shit in the grand scheme. The truth is it's not an injury that effects your performance really, not once the adrenaline hits.
All of these guys go through rigorous training camps, that's a simple lump, it really is and it's not in a horrible spot. Once he is warmed up and ready to go it will be a non factor, quit making excuses in advance. GSP will most likely win regardless, but if he loses it's because Alves is a better fighter.

Damn!
That looks like he is in the process of turning into a werewolf or something & his elbow is the only place that has started!
Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even when you win you are still retarded.
The expression on GSP’s face in the top picture is so silly. He looks like he’s found his long lost dad or something.
I love me some Sexyama!
Coleman: Who’s your daddy?
GSP: Come here you!!!
Fans: FEDOR! FEDOR! FEDOR!
Goldie: The crowd seems to be chanting "Kongo" here, Joe.

Only thing that’s dropping if you bet on Alves is your bankroll.

got to disagree with the guy on the UG
i’ve had bursitis in my left elbow 2 or 3 times now. it was killer. i dont think it will cause such an affect with what GSP does in the octagon, but i think it will have affccted his training. when you get bursitis, it makes anything that extends the arm incredibly painful. worse than that, the doctor will tell you to stop all together until its healed or you’ll risk permanent injury (scar tissue within the bursa sac is what i believe i was told.) i’d just expect to see GSPs arm used minimally in anything that would be used in an extending motion. throwing an elbow actually wouldnt cause any pain, its odd but true.
Very minor, off-topic note – you spelled Tracy Lee’s name wrong in the photo rep.

Well he kicked hughes in the nuts twice to win title.. Greased vs bj Penn… I’d say that’s a loaded elbow ala lex luger in the early 90s

I’ve been thinking for awhile now that Alves has the most potential for upset on this card, and this elbow thing just about cinches it.
A wise man told me don't argue with fools
Cause people from a distance can't tell who is who
Yeah, that’s a damn shame. If GSP loses my entire house of cards will come crumbling down.
You know what’s weird, this entire time I knew something seemed a little off with GSP. He didn’t seem as pumped or excited as he was before his fight with BJ. During the press conference yesterday, he looked kinda bummed out.
I wonder how hard he’s been training for this. I’m starting to question whether this thing has really gotten to his head.
med
hopefully, GSP won’t test positive for banned pain medications
Mickey Avalon
Do you think MIckey Avalon will try to kiss Alves on the way to the ring?
One of the football players down here in Aus had a crazy case of this recently.

He managed to play pretty well and didnt appear to give him problems at all. In an article, club doctors had this to say about the bursitis:
It didn’t even rate a mention our medical list, but we’ve had a lot of people ask about it," Essendon football manager Paul Hamilton said. “It doesn’t look good, does it? But it doesn’t cause any functional problems. It’s basically a build-up of extra fluid.”
Lucas, who has had to manage the problem for some time, needed the joint drained on his return to Melbourne.
“He got a knock on it, which caused extra fluid,” Hamilton said.
“It’s not a new thing. It’s one of those things that can really hang around for some time.”
