BE Reader UFC 100 Viewing Party Thread
This is a post for BE readers to list and coordinate their viewing parties. There have been several already but I wanted to post this one the day before UFC 100 so it would stay at the top until the event. Eugene has been awesome and made a map showing the locations of the people who frequent this site, which is included at the top. However people need to include email addresses in their profiles as to further facilitate communication. Enough of my rambling, lists of places people will be at or willing to host parties will be included after the jump, and hopefully updated throughout the day and tomorrow.
Illinois
Leland Rolling - Bloomington - Bring your own beer for drunken revelries
Virginia
iiowyn - Fredericksburg - can split ppv with 1 person but looking for more people to watch with. Zack, Loot, anyone else from near Fredericksburg lemme know what is up.
The FanPosts are solely the subjective opinions of Bloody Elbow readers and do not necessarily reflect the views of Bloody Elbow editors or staff.

Anybody in my area...
I’m dead in the heart of Illinois, but if anyone hasn’t put their marker on the map yet or is around my area, all you have to do is bring some beer for the PPV, and you can watch it for free with us. I have about 3-4 regulars who come over right now, but we’re increasing in size. We’ll probably open up a drunken betting pool soon in which we can all take each other’s cash, get drunk, and then angrily argue over money into the early morning hours.

If I was still at ISU
I’d totally be there.
I had a couple of gal friends who worked at Show-Me’s so that’s where we used to go watch the PPV’s.

I am in Baltimore, west side, right outside the city. I will be catching the show at a buddies house on the otherside of the city in front of his massive plasma, insane sound system, full bar, keg, tons of food. Also, I am not inviting anyone. I just felt the need to brag a little about how awesome it will be. My guess is that we will be rolling 20 people deep maybe more.
We’re gonna be rolling about 11,000 deep at my viewing party.
Due to Cheick Kongo's atrocious takedown defense....

live shows are great. But you end up watching the screen. Not worth the price unless you sit really close. I feel the same way about football. Watching on TV is greater then being there live. Its exciting to be there, but unless you are cage side, its more hassle then its worth.
You can watch the replay later
But you can never get the live atmosphere later.
Best is going to the game, going apeshit with everyone, then going home to watch the replay!

I’ll be hosting mine in Las Vegas, section 223 of the Mandalay Bay events center, y’all are welcome to stop by if you can get by the guy at the front door.

But I have requirements. Must be 18 and have excellent personal hygiene. You must have your own transportation to and from my house. Must be of Latin American decent, have a nice firm body and not speak English (so you can’t tell my wife). And you must be a set of female twins. Look forward to seeing you!
I’ve been a major supporter of doing this sort of thing for a while now, but we should really plan them much further in advance and try to do a few regionally (ie; Vegas, Cali, Chicago, Denver; where there seems to be a lot of local concentration of MMA fans). I’d be willing to make a trip to Chicago for a three day weekend on account of seeing an MMA event at a bar with some BE folks. I’m sure someone in the vicinity would be able to make concessions for a hosted event at a bar in the area. If not, and some of the people in the Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan areas are willing to travel to Minneapolis, I know I’d be able to, or would be willing to host an event at my offices/studio. I think we’ll have to start a conversation thread to toss around ideas. 100 isn’t good me because I’ve already got big plans, like many of you, that involve the bunch I traditionally watch MMA with. That’s my two cents..
I poop rainbows.
Can I add myself to that map?
Or does it have to be done by an admin?
If it’s admin, I live in Houston TX
I can add you when I get back from Vegas.

IIowyn I promised my friends I would go with them to Hooters for this one and I’ll be out of town for 101 but I’m definitely down for 102 if you’re gonna watch.
Which Hooters is it? My friends who watch generally go to Hard Times and the smoke there lately has been killing my breathing.
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
In fredericksburg on Route 1. It’s right by a hotel on the left going south IIRC and it’s about a mile before the Germanna campus. I don’t really like Hard Times that much plus I’m only 20 so I can’t go near the bar. I don’t think Hooters is usually that bad, but it might pick up a bit for this event. Me and my friends are getting there around 8-8:30 to make sure we get good seats.
Think I might check it out, if you see a guy in a red gecko shirt that answers to Morgan that would be me =D

and send me some pics of you in the red gecko shirt.

Meetup.com is a good place to find UFC fight groups
I run a Meetup group here in DC where we gather at various local pubs (both DC and VA) to watch the fights as a group. I have a really good relationship with Buffalo Billiards, which is an awesome place to watch fights, and they usually hook us up with our own room or our own section of the place just for our group.

I'm the kind of girl who loves to watch a GOOD fight!
