MMA Nation Rewind: Fighters Continue to Bail on Interviews, Kimbo Slice Talk and Dana White's Horrendous Taste in Music
Normally I'd do a full write-up of the interviews I did over the weekend, but all of the fighters bailed so here are some links:
My producer Othello and I open the show by reminding everyone Dana White has the worst taste in music imaginable by booking Limp Bizkit for UFC 100 weekend festivities. Note**: no Dana bashing here. Just good-natured ribbing.
I open the second segment with talk of Kimbo Slice on The Ultimate Fighter 10 as well as take listener calls on the issue. You folks should know how I feel about it, though.
In the third segment, I go into detail about how regularly fighters bail on interviews, not just on my show but across the MMA media.
In segment four, comedian Justin Schlegel, who was performing at the DC Improv that weekend, is a MMA fan and called the show. We briefly talked about the most relevant MMA issues, Strikeforce and Joe Rogan. Then I do Strikeforce picks.
Lastly, I end the show by talking about how all the chairs are broken in the studio because everyone who works at WJFK is apparently obese. And I do WEC 41 predictions.
"MMA Nation" airs every Saturday 7:00pm EST to 9:00pm EST on 106.7 WJFK. To listen live over the Internet, go to WJFK's website and click "Listen Live".
I'm on Twitter now: @mmanation.
"MMA Nation" is also available by podcast on iTunes.
We're on Facebook, too: type MMA Nation on the search bar in the upper right hand corner. Please become a fan. We want to be on WJFK on Thursday nights and need your support.

That’s some hard hitting MMA talk right there. (Kidding.)
Why the hell do they bail? It’s a simple task – you agree to do the show, then you honor the fuckin’ agreement!

It is part of the game when you report on MMA. This doesn’t reflect on Luke, as much as it is just part and parcel of being an MMA reporter. I had one fighter who no-showed an interview SIX TIMES before I finally got him.
Maybe consider prerecording segments with fighters so you can be more flexible and fit their schedule?
