Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Antoniosilva2_medium

"I think that probably by next year you'll see Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva (12-1) [ranked #18] back in the U.S.," Silva's manager and American Top Team founding manager, Alex Davis said.

"I'd like him back in the States; that's our goal. Right now we still have a contract with Sengoku. He's probably going to fight in September (Sengoku X). If that goes well, possibly for a Sengoku title at the end of the year."

I'd love to see Bigfoot

in Strikeforce or the UFC. He’ll have to pay a hefty fine and possibly serve some suspension time, but I hope they’ll let him come back.
Antonio Silva vs Shane Carwin
Antonio Silva vs Brett Rogers
Antonio Silva vs Gabriel Gonzaga
Antonio Silva vs Gilbert Yvel
Antonio Silva vs Josh Barnett

those all sound fun and only the last couple could happen in Sengoku.

That’s the way i took it at first, but the lack of the word ‘and’ seems to imply that he is stating he was always clean.

But he doesn’t say “back”. The shirt says “here”, and it’s an old photo from right after the suspension.

Great News

Bigfoot is really needed back. Strikeforce was going to pick him up before the suspension, so this could really bolster their lineup. He was making a good amount of money in EliteXC though, 200K per fight, I believe.

Why the hell is showcasing the EliteXC belt still?

The org doesn’t exsist anymore…. may he rest in peace, but lets be honest here… beating Justin Eilers for the belt isn’t a real big accomplishment.

At least Robbie Lawler and Jake Shields were smart enough to leave their belts at home and try to forget they even fought for Elite XC.

Sleep is for the weak.

Actually, I think I will take a nap when I get home.
