Don Frye vs. Bobby Lashley on August 29th?

"Don Frye stated Tuesday on Fight Network Radio that he is in negotiations with M-1 Global to fight Bobby Lashley on August 29th in Los Angeles, California.

Lashley's management team has since denied that any talks of a bout against Frye have ever taken place."

…Poor Don.

Frye's perfect

He’s older and smaller but still presents a bit of a threat — dude still packs a punch and has some wrestling ability left.

But...

Don’t you think he’s just a little bit past his prime to be taking fights against huge up and comers like Lashley? It’s the same theory I had when Ken Shamrock was in talks to fight Lashley, and I just thought it would be a massacre from hell.

Yeah, probably, but it’s not like squash match/certain death levels. Frye has competed a couple of times a year for the last few years, hasn’t beaten anyone of consequence but hasn’t lost dramatically, and doesn’t have the stink of being “finished” the way that Shamrock does (which is to say that strong breezes don’t knock him out, he doesn’t seem to have suffered the same kind of damage to his system that Shamrock has, and has yet to get out of a dangerous fight due to a mysterious cut).
