It's once again time for the Tito Ortiz version of Deal or No Deal. This time the target is Strikeforce. Ortiz says that he's going to start a promotion called 'Punishment Fighting Championships' with Strikeforce as a partner (3:05 mark). Ortiz is to be a promoter and fighter.
Tito said he could face Babalu at a Strikeforce event in October, that he could sign a four-fight deal with Strikeforce, and that he could fight Fedor down the road.

Before everyone goes crazy on Ortiz
There is a fair amount of truth to the proposal.

There’s a bit of truth in every great lie.
Seriously though, the thing is that Ortiz’s track record negatively shades his most plausible statement(s). He can really only blame himself for people taking this latest, possibly legitimate claim, with the proverbial grain of salt.

Tito == SPAM
Don’t care what he has to say or offer. He reminds me of Kurt Angle threatening to “try out” MMA every several months. BTW, where is his quarterly blurb about how “he’s coming back!” ?

“There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.”
Until Ortiz actually does something (seriously anything at all) then it’s all just Tito being Tito.

Worst idea ever
First of all, Babalu beats Tito. Second of all, Fedor looks absolutely desperate, like a boxer dodging Chris Byrd, if he takes a fight with Tito (and if he cuts weight, which I’m pretty sure he’s never ever done before). Christ on a cracker, I’ll give a shit about Tito Ortiz just as soon as he puts gloves on and fights somebody.

Even if he puts on gloves and fights, I still won’t care. He lost me at ‘If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying.’ That said, actually fighting instead of talking about fighting won’t hurt.

I don't think we will see a Tito in the cage anytime soon.

sigh
I didn’t even watch the interview….it seems just like every other thing that comes out of his mouth.
Is there anyone in the MMA scene that likes to flap their gums just to hear themselves talk as much as he does?

punishment fighting championships
is it safe to say that punishment fighting championships is the next organization to fail? Why does Tito think he is such a great business man? Last time I checked I see people where TapouT and Warrior clothing a lot more then punishment. Tito, you are one lose away from being worthless. Stop lying and telling us a bunch of crap in every interview you do. Stop telling us that you are doing this and doing that for the fighters and you care about the fighters getting money. Bull crap! You are about yourself getting money. If I was you I’d just go home, sit on your couch eat some cheetos and drink a coke and count Jenna Jamison’s money while you do nothing with your career.

You know, there was a time when Tito would fart or order a burger, and the article’s comment section would be over a hundred posts. The boy who cried Tito should find this instructive.

the annoying thing is Tito doesn’t seem to realise this fued with Dana was money, it made both men and the UFC lots of money and i think Tito will get a reality check when he doesn’t draw half of what he thinks he is worth on his own. he will still make good money for a while(outside of Babalu and Noguiera i don’t see much else compelling for him At LHW and he would be average at best at HW).

I am done with Tito and I am a fan
I like to watch him fight, but he isn’t a fighter anymore. I refuse to watch or read an interview of his until he has gloves on and is pucnhing someone. Otherwise you can lather, rinse, repeat his last 40 interviews. He should have stayed with the UFC, and I am sure he knows this by now.
