Din Thomas Scratched From Ultimate Chaos PPV
Din Thomas has confirmed to MMA Spot.net that he will not be fighting tonight at Ultimate Chaos in Biloxi, MS. It appears that his half pound that he weighed in over turned into a disorganized mess before the resurgent star finally had his fight with Javier ‘Showtime’ Vazquez called off. Reports from sources close to Thomas said that the fight had originally been allowed to continue, leading to Thomas attempting to rehydrate from the weight cut, weighing in at 146.6 lbs for his 145 lbs fight. But only after he started his rehydration did fight officials approach Thomas about taking additional time to cut to the contracted weight limit. He attempted to cut the additional weight, but the extra effort, once rehydrated left Thomas extremely weakened and in need of medical attention.
Thomas confirmed to MMA Spot at the venue that the fight was indeed canceled. The American Top Team fighter was extremely disappointed about the incident.

Unprofessional.
And it continues the streak of ATT Fighters who continue to struggle to make weight. That camp really needs to get it’s act together. A few talented bunch they are with a horrible reputation of not cutting weight properly.
Dude. You don’t even know the story. The guy was given the go ahead by the commision about the overage. Then after he started drinking again, they told him he had to cut the 0.6 lbs. From talking to Din tonight, he said “Had they told me I had to lose the 1/2 lbs right then, I would have just dropped my trunks. Or, had they told me that I would have had to give up some purse and keep the weight, I would have done that.”
Sounds to me like the officials have the most to blame on this one.
Yup, Always Relaxing, always quick to jump the gun.

Don’t they normally give a guy two chances to make weight? I mean lots of guys miss the first time but are very very close and can cut it down in a hour or so. Sure Din should of hit the first time but then he was so close that he could hit it if given a second shot, this just screams athletic commission screw up. How do you tell a guy it’s ok and then go back and tell him it isn’t later?
This sucks I was looking forward to seeing him kick Javy’s a**. The WEC needs to sign him

Does anyone know why the WEC didn’t sign him? He would of made a great opponent for Urijah when he was still champ(obviously) and searching for contenders? Although his teammate is champ now I think they should still bring him in.

Mike Brown
He didn’t want to fight Mike Brown since they are from the same camp…that’s one reason he told me when I interviewed him last year.
I was looking forward to this fight with Din/Javy as well…regardless of what the commission told him…I don’t have ALL the information….but had Din made weight the first time…it would be a non-issue…he’s been in the sport too long to allow that to happen IMO.

Din could’ve dropped his shorts to make weight. but the commission said he was okay, only to make him cut weight again after rehydrating.

Din can easily challenge for the WEC LW title, he should be in one of the big leagues fighting top fighters not some no name in a card headlined by Sapp.
