BJ Penn Gives Proof That Kenny Florian Sent a Text About Georges St-Pierre Greasing

It started as an email to BJ Penn, then an email to Rudy Valentino, then a text to a friend... true or not, BJ Penn is hyping up UFC 101 nicely. Click here for Kenny Florian's denial back in February.

I love that image. “Ospital” just makes it perfect. I know it’s probably years away, but I can’t wait for Penn to retire and hopefully shut up.

cheers,
Andrew

wow that was some pretty solid evidence right there, a guy saying it was true, but hey he stands by what he said

Final Word.

BJ is 100% telling the truth on this one. Beyond a shadow of a doubt. You can take my word for it. Cereally.

it is what it is

Expand you vocabulary for f*ks sake.

One of the dumbest, laziest and ambiguous expressions ever!

“It is what it is”. What is? And what is it like?

Maybe

You should tighten your grasp on the English language before you call someone else out.

by Deo Wade on Jun 26, 2009 3:21 PM EDT up reply actions   1 recs

elaborate

what did I say that makes you think I don’t have a grasp of the English language?

I never said I have English mastered but people who speak in cliche phrases like “It is what it is” and “It’s all good” are usually uneducated at best (basketball, baseball, football stars) and stupid and lazy at worst.

by olegb139 on Jun 26, 2009 5:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

People that over generalize groups are stupid and lazy.

sorry

I offended you. I know you you think that everyone is special and everyone deserves a second chance, etc

Wow...

you seem like a quality guy.

This isn’t a place to call people out over grammar. You can all them out over almost anything (opinions, false info, etc.), but it’s pretty juvenile to call people out over a phrase you don’t like. Then continuing to belittle entire groups of people is just damn stupid.

When you make stupid statements expect people to fire back, this blog is for adults. Deal with it or go to Sherdog.

by B Money on Jun 26, 2009 8:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thanks for the compliment

It’s okay to call people out about their opinions? Really? Hahaha. That’s way worse than calling people out over something objective, like a dumb statement they keep saying over and over. Opinions are all subjective and calling out people over them is just plain dumb. It’s like saying “I don’t like the way you think, so I’ll argue with you and convince you to think like me”

Now. It is not juvenile to call people out over a phrase in this context. The guy in the video repeats the dumb phrase over and over again, giving no real information and being completely ambiguous in his statements regarding an issue that is pretty damn important. How is that “juvenile”

And get off your high horse grandpa. You’re arguing with someone you don’t know on an internet forum. Isn’t that juvenile?

Okay

But I did not say it over and OVER AND OVER again. Me saying “cry me a river” also did not result in any clouding or confusion in regards to the topic at hand (as opposed to the guy in the video).

It’s great that you know what “cliche” means and can spot it randomly and out of context in a post, but please don’t throw that talent around and turn it into insults toward others.

I REALLY don't like

BJ Penn anymore.

I can only wish that Kenny will hit him with a “hellbow” in his larynx so it permanently shuts him the fuck up.

BJ also gives proof that he is still a complete douche bag

by brazary on Jun 26, 2009 4:05 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

So because BJ

said it happened, we’re supposed to believe him. Does anyone else remember the “shiny” video that BJ released, I’d say his credibility is pretty much shot at this point. BJ let it go man, you lost the fight, and the court battle, move on with your life.

by proflex on Jun 26, 2009 4:06 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I am amazed that his camp/family

does not tell him to shut the fuck up about this already.

Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even when you win you are still retarded.

by dnevil001 on Jun 26, 2009 4:10 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah right?! he needs professional counseling to help him let it go already.

This is all just setup for Greasegate 2 after he loses to Kenny. It will be the story of Kenny training with GSP and learning how to grease there, followed by 6 months of disputes with the NSAC and Mom testifying on BJ’s behalf.

by xDieseLx on Jun 26, 2009 5:22 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Who's next in line for contendership after Florian...

I’m too lazy to look right now, but whoever it is will probably send an email or text to BJ telling him how Kenny has been taking secret pills to make him as slippery as an eel.

by soadtrails on Jun 26, 2009 8:39 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I understand why BJ's so ticked off but

I wish he’d let it go. St-Pierre obviously had vaseline illegally applied to his shoulders and upper back, and while that definitely could have had a huge impact on the second round, it would all be a moot point if BJ had shown up with a better gas tank (and subsequently not been taken down at will after gassing by the second round).

While the whole victory is a bit tainted in my opinion, there’s no proof at all that St-Pierre knew he had Vaseline applied illegally. Taking it a step further, you can’t even prove that Phil Nurse was intentionally applying it to his back (although maybe he’s been smoking doobies with Geo Soto if he forgot he had Vaseline on his hands before rubbing Rush’s shoulders and upper back).

BJ is one of my favorite fighters, and has, perhaps, the most God-given natural talent of any fighter in MMA history. If he would focus on training his cardio more and on actually taking fighters to the ground, he’d become one of the most dominant champions in history. BJ Penn needs to move past this, ignore the comments made by Hughes, Sherk, and other fighters who couldn’t take Rush down, and focus on Florian. He should have an advantage on the feet and on the ground, but if he gasses 7 minutes into the fight, it won’t matter.

by Ryjo on Jun 26, 2009 5:33 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Maybe I missed something but who is Weintraub and why would Kenny Florian text him?

by Higgz on Jun 26, 2009 6:56 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Well

I really don’t care what Penn thinks. He just should accept the fact he got blasted and move on.

It’s not like this whole thing with Penn losing made anyone drink syrup as part of a bet…..oh wait…

Andy Reid is the only coach in NFL history that uses the pass to set up the pass.

This topic almost made me quit following the community. I still can’t believe BJ Penn is bad for the sport because he won’t let it go that GSP cheated. But everyone makes excuses for GSP like he didn’t deserve to be called out on it. It doesn’t matter if BJ would have lost anyways, GSP cheated. This is the blame the rape victim philosophy. This should never have been about BJ accepting he lost, it should have been about that GSP is a cheater. Who cares if GSP has the skills to beat anyone without cheating, it doesn’t change the fact that he cheated and it is wrong. It doesn’t matter if the rule wording is vague or if GSP knew what his cornerman was doing or not, GSP cheated in that fight. GSP would beat BJ again, but that doesn’t make it alright to fucking cheat.

It doesn’t matter if the rule wording is vague or if GSP knew what his cornerman was doing or not, GSP cheated in that fight.

If he did not know his cornerman was doing it than isn’t blaming him as bad as your “blaming the rape victim” defense.

If you took a test at some point and your friend fixed it before it was passed off and you did not know, did you cheat?

GSP may have known, and he may not have known. The point is that BJ keeps crying over this when it’s been decided already. Also, just for the record, if the governing body of the match decides he did in fact act inside the rules (they stepped in to wipe it off of him and cleared him to continue)…it’s not cheating. Wrong? Mabye, but cheating it is not.

by B Money on Jun 26, 2009 8:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

GSP is still in his head after the horrible beating he gave him, it’s going to be easy picking for Kenflo to take whatever is left of BJ’s pride and become the new UFC LW champion.

Seriously, BJ is so lame. I wonder if he has any fans outside of Hawaii anymore. If he does I have came across a single one.

YEA, WE EXIST

Bj is one of my favorite fighters, and I honestly don’t care at all how pissed fans get about it… GSP and his camp gave him the ammunition… I still think theres more to it than people will ever admit, and I actually like BJ more for pissin off the fickle MMA community…
